"If you wanted to win one game who is the forward you would want on your team?" Matthews has "had to win one game" in the playoffs multiple times and his record is abysmal. How could any serious person even consider him for a second? Matthews is the anti Claude Lemieux. I guess if the game was completely meaningless it would be OK to pick him; but it seems implicit in the question that the game is meaningful. How could anyone pick one of the core four for a must win game?
When you look at these categories, players are being judged for their performance when it counts the most and Matthews hasn't been the best player in a playoff series yet. If he wants respect, he needs to earn it when the games matter. Just look at this year. If he gets 70 goals in the regular season and the Leafs are one and done in the playoffs, with Matthews putting up mediocre numbers again. The year was a failure and Matthews can't escape that if he gets 100 regular season goals. There is no other way to look at it. People don't vote for failure.
Arizona to Utah, meh sure, anywhere is better than where they are now. At the rate they are going in Arizona they will be playing in a curling rink in three years. The price, well the league can't ask new franchises for north of a half a billion if the Coyotes sell for the 50 million or so they are worth. If they were really serious about making money they would put the team in Hamilton or Toronto.

If anything the coverage is overdone. Last I checked, Matthews is trailing Kutcherov and McDavid by a significant margin in the scoring race.
