|Since Feb 9 2023|101|13|38|51|0.51|23|

His Goals per Game is about where it was but his assists have dropped, which can be entirely attributed to the powerplay.
In 21/22 & 22/23 he had **17 and 20** power play assists respectively but only 8 this year. He is 13 total points back from last season so add those in and he’s on pace for the same totals for the last 2 seasons at about 50 points per year.
Our powerplay has not been great and when Weegar is on the pace he’s on you just let that ride.
So I’d argue he hasn’t been any worse.
_ »but wait. his defensive numbers are worse and look at that +/-! »_
I wonder if losing 3 of your top 5 defensemen on a young inexperienced team would impact that? Probably not. He’s just scared of cars

He’s looked off all year honestly. He’ll bounce back next year im sure

Well if there was any year to have a down year, it’d be the one where we could Secure a top 10 pick in the draft. I expect Ras and hopefully Mangipane will bounce back next season

I think he is paid to be a #4 defense man, and he might be showing that he is not a top pairing defense man in the NHL. His performance seems to be degrading because he is being played a little too highly in the depth chart, and facing too many challenging matchups (potentially without an appropriate partner).
