So much back peddaling from these guys. I understand, though, they are emotionally invested in the team, and I appreciate that. They were big to apologize.
When Atlanta Trashers moved to Winnipeg it took the team time to get a name colors a logo then a Jerseys and that was in May . The sale happens in June that is a shorter window i think that is why the utah is being aloud to get the stuff done now so they aren't waiting for Jerseys to be finished in pre season like Jets where i think it was 2 games before the got the Jerseys
Iam 90-95% done with the NHL
When the new AZ franchise comes back, they should just call it, "The Phoenix."
I'm so pumped for this! SLC Coyotes! Let's goooooo
NGL, I didn't even know this podcast existed until today…
If you are given this many chances to succeed and fail, you deserve to lose the team. Winnipeg, Minnesota, and Quebec were given basically no chances in the 1990s.
Utah is still a problem with its current arena. Anything but Canada, Houston slips through again.
How did Frank even find his way into an obscure yotes podcast?
If the Coyotes come back to Arizona after a potential move to Utah, who would get the history of the oroginal Winnipeg Jets? In the NBA, the Charlotte Hornets reclaimed their history from the New Orleans Hornets when they changed their name to the Pelicans, in the NFL, the Browns reclaimed their history as an expansion team after the origonal went to Baltimore. But I don't think there is precedent for a team that moved twice. Is Teemu Selanne a Coyotes legend or a Utah legend. Just asking the questions no one cares about.
Anyone else think its funny how the league will profit 200m just because? Lmao.
I find this fascinating as my Hurricanes came from Hartford and gave me a reason to care about the NHL in NC. As I recall, they had arena issues too.
This isn't rocket science. There is already a deal in place. The Coyotes (as they're known today) will be sold and moved to Salt Lake City. They will have a new team name. Owners of the other 31 teams are done with Mullet Arena (it's just bad show). The "Coyotes" will remain an AZ team under some circumstances. AZ has a guaranteed expansion spot and will re-create the Coyotes IF they win the land auction. If they do, they'll be the Phoenix Coyotes (dropping the state name). If they don't win the auction, they're still in the running for expansion, but it will be a lot tougher for them. Regardless, the "Coyotes" won't be around next season….they'll be in SLC under a new name.
ha! a pampered white sportsdude in Arizona telling us not to call him names is rich.
calm dow , Mr. Maga 🤡 no one's hurting you even if they call you names or make a personal attack. you are not even worth it.
As a die hard fan of a Canadian franchise I strongly disagree that the best fans are coyotes fans…they had many arenas they could have filled, but I think bad ownership is a bit of a cop out no?
Despise his honest kind words. How many what fans are we going to see from the losers? Ill say 7
Sabres have the best fans in the NHL if we’re going off of “not having much to root for”
At the ends it's business. Owner has failed to provide an arena for his team. I do hope nhl returns to Arizona sometime in the near future when they can actually provide reasonable playing conditions for its team.
A$$ kissing first…….
It's a no brainer jeez! The owners have the money going forward. Arizona just isn't a NHL market I don't know why they were placed there anyway
Frank has risen from bottom feeder to a top dog.
No other NHL teams would be allowed to play in a 5,000 seats arena. Calgary Sadledome can host 18,000 people but the league is pushing pressure to build a new arena, same in Winnipeg, 15,000 seats, not sold out every games, the league is concerned. Coming from fans in Canada being told by the league we’re not performing the way they want in the stands it’s really hard for us to accept the fact that the league is backing up a team playing in a 5,000 seats arena. Junior team in Quebec City brings in 12,000 to 18,000 fans a game…
I visited the Phoenix area last April when the area got voted down. The only thing I saw advertising the team was the faded logo and a stand up of the team's mascot that was covered in overgrown foliage at the zoo's coyote habit.
When I called the team to see if I could buy some souvenirs I was told the closest thing they had to a team store was a small kiosk they had to roll out for the home games, and that I should just order something online or find a sporting goods store in the area that might have something.
I saw much more representation with the Diamondbacks, Cardinals, and Suns than I did about the Coyotes.
Outside of the diehard season ticket holders it seems no one could care less about the Coyotes.
So you screw up a team, give it away, and get rewarded with an expansion team? I’m the first to oppose a team in Quebec City but seriously this is just plain stupid.
slc actually hits 110f in summers. if you go to southern Utah which is only 4hrs from slc, its always warm like phx
I think it’s funny of all athletes you’d think HOCKEY PLAYERS would be troubled by living in a city with snow lol. Plus SLC is beautiful all spring and summer 😂
Welcome to Salt Lake City 🎉
Coyote welcome to Salt Lake City
Coyotes should have stayed in the Footprint Center and spent the money on a big renovation to make the arena suitable for hockey it would have been much cheaper than building the Glendale arena
Everything Craig Morgan “The Shill” has said, about the Coyotes, since October was wrong.
I grew up near Winnipeg and when our team was relocated to Arizona, I was gutted. For them to be upset that "their" team is being relocated is a bunch of shit. It was never your team. That is OUR team. For them to question "Why Salt Lake?" is ridiculous. We had the same question. WHY ARIZONA?? It doesn't even snow there!
I've watched for decades as the Coyotes were mismanaged. If they had remained in Winnipeg, how many cups would we have won? Arizona never deserved a team and i'm happy they finally feel how we felt.
But you know what? You'll have a chance at getting your own team because you have an expansion team waiting if your cards are played right. We waited decades to finally get a team again. Get over yourselves, you'll have one much sooner than that.
I'm happy for Utah. At least it's going somewhere it actually snows and where they truly care about winter sports. Our team is finally somewhere that deserves it. Not its original home but a true home nonetheless.
Feels like the NHL just realized that having a team play out of a 4,600 capacity arena with barely any professional caliber facilities for 4+ years might not be a great idea.
Love the echoing audio from Frank way to go LOL
