If you’re thinking of what a trade for Brady would look like, it would be a lot like the Matthew trade. Florida gave up their best forward and a top-4 (but should have been top pairing) defenseman, plus a first. And still probably won the trade.

I’d like to hear the affirmative case that Brady Tkachuk is better than Nico Hischier.
Because as far as I can tell they’re the same age and they score about the same, but Nico is a far superior defensive player and seemingly a more effective captain (we can’t really know for sure on that last point, but the available evidence suggests that Ottawa’s room is a mess.)

Maybe I’m out to lunch, but I think a good return for Ottawa would be our first (top 10 pick in a good draft), Casey, and Daws. That’s 3 really solid pieces for them and we don’t subtract a big piece from our current roster. They need a goalie and Daws has proven at least *something* at the NHL level, Casey is a high end prospect, and that pick yields a good player as long as they don’t mess it up
