Les Sénateurs d’Ottawa ont rapidement mis fin aux rumeurs commerciales impliquant leur capitaine et joueur vedette Brady Tkachuk pendant la date limite des échanges de cette année, mais son nom revient et c’est la deuxième fois dans une année civile. Les Diables ont cruellement besoin d’une présence physique accrue, mais ils ont les atouts nécessaires pour réaliser un échange de cette ampleur. Les Diables peuvent balancer l’un de Dawson Mercer ou Alexander Holtz, le 1er choix de cette année 2024, et éventuellement l’un de Simon Nemec ou Seamus Casey pour conclure cet accord. Il en faudra beaucoup pour acquérir Tkachuk, mais sa présence fera du top 6 des Devils l’un des meilleurs sinon le meilleur de la ligue. Would be fun to watch if the Devils got Tkachuk. Devils could use a Claude Lemieux type player like Brady to get the opponents aggravated.
I can't see him leaving there but I agree..a Brady type player is needed.. and there are more pressing needs Fitzgerald has to address.. should be an interesting off season. LFGD
id give up holtz over mercer. Mercer is more well rounded and grind the puck out pretty well and scores a bunch of goals. i could see Nemec maybe getting moved. We have too many off-defensemen.
Giving uup first round and 3 players sounds like a lot.
Rupp is crazy. OTT would ask for the moon. The Devils need Physical players but not at the cost of half the roster. The only conceivable way this happens is if the Devils wind up picking high in the draft and that pick is a major part of the deal. And NJ needs a defensive System. Competent Goaltending will be enough with a real defensive structure.
Pipedream to me, but he's definitely the type of player that you make moves to get if he's ever made available.

I think the bigger issues are defense and goaltending. I think it would be a bad move giving up all those high end players for another great forward when we have enough forwards already.
Those "expendable" players will be needed for the goalie trade. The season went down the drain mostly due to a lack of D and the goalie problems. So yeah it would be great to get another big forward but priority wise fixing the goalie problem and getting another top D is enough probably to get to the playoffs.
I’m with ya Joe , esp with Mcdermid, ever since he joined the team everyone on our team stepped up physically and fought lol even Nemo. As for BT, gonna be toughhh, but obv saying goodbye to Casey, Nemo, a first, and prob Mercer
I’d LOVE to see Brady as a devil . His hitting and blocking energy is what we’ve been missing and could be contagious .
Don’t think it will happen but would be great to get him. Think the Devils should look at getting Trevor Zegras this offseason. 3C/move him up/down the lines as a wing. Imagine him playing the same line as Jack?
I would rather have a cheaper Brady Tkatchuk like a third line guy who can score 15 goals a season, play two way hockey, and pay him like 4 mil a year versus trading draft picks prospects and players for Brady and then paying Brady 10mil
Where would we get the cap space to sign a 10 million dollar player? We already have about four 8 mil guys

Simon Nemec is a number one D man. He is not worth getting rid of
Brady Tkatchuk is not worth all those players you named.
It wasn't offense that they lacked this year. They were a great offensive team before they acquired Timo Meier. It sounds ridiculous.
I would never get rid of Simon Nemec. He will be the best defensive defenseman on the Devils roster a few seasons down the road.
Ottawa is not restarting their rebuild. If they did there would be a full out fan revolt so Ottawa doesn't want picks. They need to make the playoffs or be majorly in the hunt for a wildcard to keep fans engaged. They've been too impatient after all these years. The only way they trade Brady is for roster players only and ones that completely help Ottawa now
The Devils need him and Fitz needs to make it happen. I think Nemec, Holtz, and the 1st in 24. Or Mercer , Casey and the 1st in 24. If they need to add another piece or two I don’t care, get Brady to NJ. Fitz cannot miss out on this.
