  1. Completely clean hit. He’s just finishing his check. Bad spot to skate through the ice and you gotta spin. A lot of NHL players are in the bad habit of watching their dump ins and neutral zone passes because of how rare these hits have become.

  2. This is in no way a penalty. Its an unfortunate result of a good hit, and I hope Jensen is ok and makes a full recovery.

  3. Not a fan of either but id call maybe an interference. ITS NOT BOARDING BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION. Aside from that I think it was an awkward landing that got him

  4. Hate to see it. I hope Jensen makes a speedy recover and doesn’t have any long last effects from being knocked out 😢. Great call by the refs by just sending everyone to the locker rooms with 1 min left after the first. 💯 there would’ve been a brawl with emotions running high.

  5. It's not the hit that is the problem. It's the unnecessary push that comes after it.

That's the penalty. It could easily be construed as "intent to injure", and 5 and a game all day.

That wasn't "follow through"; he shoved Jensen with both hands on his stick AFTER contact.

Ref didn't see it that way, though.

  6. No penalty was the right call. It wasn’t even that hard a hit, but Jensen was off balance and went hard into the boards. Hate to see someone injured in any situation and usually players skate away from far harder contact, but in a fast contact game like hockey injuries occur. Hopefully Jensen will get checked out and cleared quickly.

  7. What's about Guhle from the Canadiens,a bad check but no penalty ,now what are they going to decide ,,,,,Darrell ,ps the same team Tampa

  8. Jensen had already passed the puck when contact was made. If it were just a shoulder hit, maybe you could claim it was legal if not a bit late. But the hard shove with left arm is what really did the damage, and that timing of that near the boards is definitely wrong and cheap. To me that was a hit with an intent to injure.

  9. I get the need to stand up for a fallen player. However, emotions need to be controlled. Could you imagine if the fallen player received a secondary injury as a result of the pileup? I think back to the Bertuzzi sucker punch and how the Avs players jumped right on Todd, dropping right on top of Moore. I think that extra weight coming down on top of him probably further injured him beyond the injury already inflicted upon him by Bertuzzi.

  10. Boarding penalty to me. Not very sportsmanlike. 2 min or 5 min? I would say 5 min. because there's an injury. Looks like a possible broken collar bone or separated shoulder…

  11. Rule 7.2 – boarding

A boarding penalty will be assessed to any Player who checks or pushes an unsuspecting opponent in such a manner that causes the opponent to hit or impact the boards violently or dangerously.

If a player is injured, as the result of a boarding infraction that would otherwise call for a Minor penalty, a Major penalty and Game Misconduct penalty must be assessed.

    “This is boarding”
