One of the reasons why so many people shit on the AZ market is because of the double-standard that got used with Arizona compared to Atlanta (twice), Winnipeg, Minnesota and Quebec City when it comes to relocation, just because of the TV deal. They should have done the Cleveland Browns thing much longer ago (I’m pretty sure under normal circumstances AZ can have success with NHL hockey).

The NBA tried to warn you, NHL. Alex Meruelo is as meddling as it becomes. Horrible owner, horrible bill payer, made the Coyotes draft Mitchell Miller in the 4th round, got the Coyotes kicked out of Gila River Arena to play in a college rink, and turned this team into something seen out of a hockey horror movie. This man is inept as a sports owner. Say what you want about hockey in Arizona, Meruelo is a big reason as to why the Yotes are going to Salt Lake.
And for context for that first sentence, Meruelo tried to buy the Atlanta Hawks a decade ago and the NBA told him to piss off.
