I’m Indigenous, and I’ve never, ever heard another Indigenous person suggest that they think the Hawks should change their logo. Quite the opposite, in fact.
It only seems to be white people making this demand, claiming to be speaking for us, yet being completely out of touch with what we actually think and feel.

I’m born, raised and enrolled Indigenous and have relatives from the Sauk & Fox Nation, literally Chief Blackhawk’s relatives, I’ve talked with many of them specifically about the logo issue, and memes like this don’t speak for us as a people, as fans, or them as their tribe.
That’s between S&F nation of Oklahoma and the franchise, it’s no one else’s business either way. You don’t get to tell us it is or isn’t detrimental, WE decide that. The Hawks were honoring Indigenous people LONG before it was cool. They did acknowledgments LONG before that became the trendy thing to do. They honor Indigenous veterans almost every home game and the eagle feather staff is not handled by anyone at the UC who isn’t Indigenous. That’s real talk.
