@Capitals de Washington

    Even if by some reason the Flyers let a tie happen, they’re eliminated, while an OT win still puts us through, would hope our motivation in overtime would be able to get the win over dejected flyers

    Hope we go in and show out. Would be nice for a convincing win. Pretty interesting bit of info though.

    Clinch a playoff spot off an empty net game winner by ovi would be euphoric

    what does u/flyersandcaps have to say about this

    This actually used to happen fairly often before the advent of OT/shootouts. There were only 3 results, win = pts, tie = 1, loss = 0.

    Teams needing the win would pull their goalies in a tied game and it would get kinda crazy.

    The funniest possible outcome tonight would be we’re down 1 late, pull Lindgren and tie with like 1:30 left, the flyers then pull their goalie and Ovi pots an empty netter to win. It would be stressful af but man would it be worth it lol

    Ideally we’re winning in the 3rd and they’re forced to pull their goalie like midway through the 3rd period.

    Pens and Wings fans are gonna be livid if we clinch on a empty netter during a tie game lol

    Well prob blow anyways like all the important games

    So we actually have a higher chance of winning the game than usual

    This has weirdly been a really fun season. We came in with low expectations, sold at the trade deadline, now scrapping our way with our fan favorites and youngins towards the playoffs, and it all comes down to the last game? It’s been a ride

    is this true even if the pens lose their last game?

    Y’all are assuming the caps aren’t liable to give up 3 in the first and trail the rest of the game. Love my boys, but they haven’t been on their best. Last night vs Boston was great but they weren’t playing for keeps exactly. Last night almost felt like a gift. But hey let me be wrong, I’d be a whole lot happier.

    Makes our chances go up to win let’s just beat them
