Zadina showed some flashes of high-end skill this season but was too inconsistent. He might be more productive if he had better teammates. I wouldn't mind resigning Zadina for 1 more year to see what he can do.
Zadina can devour a satchel of Richards.
What line has zadina been playing on for san jose
Red Wings fans forgot about him 😅 nuff said..
is joe velleno the next zadina? Has speed but didn't show much else this season….
We could've had a 90 point defenseman instead
"Best pick available," says Holland.
[rage]
Hey Lego, I am a lifetime Red Wings fan and I just wanted to say thank you for all your updates and Input .. you're actually like one of the only channels that I can listen to weather its hockey related or not. So thanks again for taking time out of your day to keep us updated as best you can around the
]][)etroit Red Wings and the rest of the NHL . I appreciate it and I'm sure we all do.
It was well known Holland was gonna take Bouchard or Dobson until Zadina fell into our laps. From my recollection it was Bouchard 1A, Dobs 1B. He didn't give Hughes much thought as he said he "didn't b believe smaller dman can succeed in todays NHL". With that said, F00K YOU ZADINA😭 Imagine Bouch or Dobs with Moritz 😩
I felt un easy about the pick from day one. there was a reason why he slipped so far.
Zadina is literally Yakupov. Exact copy of players. It's pretty mind boggling because they had all the tools!!!
What Raymond is accomplishing is what they thought Zadina would also be that same top line threat.
Zadina immediately added more pressure on himself by saying he would fill opponents nets with pucks.
Detroit wanted Evan Bouchard as their next prospect if Zadina was gone.
Tragic
Was it worth it? Let’s be real, in another world Zadina stays with the Wings and then he gets traded to the sharks anyway just like his replacement Klim Kostin was. Snore
As a Sharks fan, the guy is still young and he played well for us. I give him props for leaving money on the table because he had so much confidence in himself. On a team with hardly any confidence, this is the type of guy you want on your team
I wish no harm and bad on Zadina but it’s so funny that he didn’t wanna be with the shitty Wings and now he’s on an even worse team. he’ll be overseas in no time
Filip WHO?
People keep saying how it's admirable, how he bet on himself… I frankly disagree. Detroit gave him a golden opportunity AND a contract he never earned, they paid him for potential, and they paid him well. He never successfully took the opportunities that Detroit handed him. And if you don't perform on a rebuilding team, you are gonna get passed by. Zadina got passed by and couldn't stomach it. For the Wings, he was an AHL player. That hurt his ego so he want elsewhere, someplace where he was almost guaranteed to make the roster. I don't think the Sharks view Zadina as a piece of their future. He's probably a passer by player for them.
People keep praising him for saying no to millions…. I see a player who said no to a great up and coming situation in Detroit, one he could have worked hard to be a part off and maybe make the playoffs very soon, because of pride and ego. I've spent time with his Quebec family home when he played here in the Q…. Being cocky is good when you can back it up. Zadina has not backed it up in the NHL.
I think Zadina needs a stint in the AHL to develop a little more. Yeah, he's not bad, but he's also not good either. There is a reason when we tried to give him away for free no one would take him.
I hope he can do well for the Sharks, and grow into the player he wanted to be when the Habs passed him over.
He'll be in the AHL next season and back in Czechia by 2026, the Wings are legit better without him. Looking back Its not only Quinn Hughes we missed out on, Bouchard, Dobson, Farabee, Miller…ugh
Id resign him 1 year deal
I can not help but think that Zadina will regret leaving millions of dollars on the table later in life. He turned down life changing money.
-44–Worst plus/minus on the worst team!
Bedard's -41 is shocking!
He's a bust, said he would fill the net of every team who passed on him but right now he's filling the trashcan with tears
There were tremendous hypes around Zadina (6th overall 2018) and Puljujärvi (4th overall 2016) during their respective draft years. However, neither panned out. Playing pro probably require more investment of efforts from the drafted players.
No
Another Holland flop. Could have had Hughes.
He sucks
I remember screaming at the TV because they didn’t pick Hughes. Idiots, they needed a defenseman so bad.
I'll take Sprong and Fischer over Zadina any day.
Hindsight is something else isn't it? Holland suckkked toward the end of his tenure in Detroit.
Steve Yzerman once said you can draft 10 players and you would be lucky to get one solid NHL'er out of the 10. Zadina will be out of the NHL in a couple of years, he doesn't have the work ethic.
Funny how he was on the team that only won 17 games in 2020 then in another team that won 19 games current year
He had a bad attitude from the start, thought too highly of himself, was standoffish in interviews. I was never impressed with his shot, nothing special, very inaccurate for the NHL, lots of goals on bad goalies, has no ability to self create, very predictable player. At best he could be a lifetime AHL top scorer, but his ego is too big for that so likely he'll be in the KHL soon. 🗑️ Bucket, last draft failure of the most overrated redwings GM of all time, thanks Holland, a guy who might as well made haakan Anderson the GM because he was the guy who brought you any real talent in the zetterbeg datayuk years, not Holland, whos other draft picks were total failures.
