@Red Wings de Détroit

1. be yourself Jeff…best thing about podcasts is that you can say what you want and we can hear your true feelings uncensored…keep up the great work…

  2. It was either the '95 or '96 season I won tickets from a local radio station and I was waiting behind the zamboni entrance to do an on ice promo event after the second period. There was some traffic in front of Vernon and I yelled to get the Hawks player out of the crease. Next to me, Van Earl Wright (holding a beer) chimed in with "Get him the F*CK out of the crease". I don't curse in my everyday life, and to hear this from an on air sportscaster (that wasn't Stoney) was shocking. So I could do without the foul language; but you do you.

  3. An 82-game season is a marathon, not a sprint. You need to do well and be consistent the whole way, you can't depend on hot streaks near the end of the season to miraculously save you. It has happened sure but that's kind of rare. All that being said that it has been really exciting watching the Wings the last month or so, playing with such thirst. I think our future is bright but we need to can that deadhead Lalonde! #LGRW

  4. Offseason will be telling, a few tweaks and they really should make it in next year, as far as Kane is concerned – I would love to see him resigned but his post game interview he was very careful and to me it sounded like he was talking in past tense which makes me think he already knows he is moving on.

  5. Cursing is a guilty pleasure. My parents raised me not to do it (I'm 39 pushing 40). So for me amongst the right company it's kind of an outlet or release to be able to use agricultural language. Honestly it depends on your demographic here. If this is more of a family show then the language should probably be watched, but I always got the feeling this podcast was more relaxed than the official on air shows. shrug

  6. I remember when the Lions play the Packers last game we won and the next year we make the playoffs so hope the redwings do the same

  7. They've been infuriating to watch this season. Constantly falling asleep for a period or a game or on two separate occasions nearly a month.

  8. As others have said, the redwings did do this to themselves. Especially, losing to Arizona twice, and some other teams beneath them.

With that being said though, the way that yesterday played out was so wrong.

I understand Philadelphia had to get a regulation win to even have a chance at the playoffs and with them being coached by Tortorella, it was a given what he was going to do in that scenario, but still, to have the other team only make the playoffs because you pulled your goalie in a tie game with three minutes left is something else.

  9. If a listener has their feelings hurt by a swear every now and then..oh well.
Unfortunately, some People like finding ways to be offended every single day.
Having Jeff waste time highlighting someone’s feelings about a “F”
bomb 💣 – the pod is not about you, or your feelings ..

  10. Its time to get the kids up here….. If you draft them they got to play, not rot in Grand Rapids …..

  11. Tough to blame Philly when:

    1. The change in the Detroit score was almost simultaneous to pulling the goalie (not Philly’s job to look out for Detroit anyway)

    2. Detroit had their chance vs Washington earlier this week and blew it (putting them in this position to depend on another team)

If you’re looking to blame something, blame losing to Arizona twice at the end of the year or F’ing Boston having 8 shots on goal at home vs Washington Sunday (Never thought I’d say it but, GO MAPLE LEAFS!!!)

  12. Same reaction to the end of regulation… if the wings can carry over this energy to next year, it will be a fun year.

  13. They say Swearing show a lack of intelligence. I’m not sure of that but it sounds crass. Controlling speak is a challenge that brings rewards.

  14. I absolutely loved the last 2 games! They were fantastic! Credit where credit us due. They battled back and made last 2 games exciting! Having said that, do not let these last to amazing games cloud the big picture. This team was not prepared when they needed to be. They lost big games when they needed to win. They looked lost and like everyone had amnesia and forgot how to play hockey. No one can handle the puck! Mishandling every puck and every puck possession! We saw it last night against Montreal. They truly looked awful most of that game last night. Montreal really outplayed them. There is 5 or 6 guys that are passengers on this team and need to be weeded out immediately + u need a goaltender or 2. I think imo opinion and tell me who agrees or disagrees but veleno, fabbri, fischer, perron, copp, petry, ghost, holl, and maybe compher. Haven't made my mind up about compher. But those other guys I think are the problem. As much as ghost saved us last game leaping 3 feet. Not enough bro. So that's my opinion and if anyone disagrees please don't mf me. Just my opinion. Let's talk about it!

  15. Not offended by the swearing. It's infinitely more offensive to me that we tied for the 2nd wildcard spot and got tie-breakered the fuck (oops) out of there in the most cheesy way possible after we battled like fucking (oops) wild animals to get back in there. Fuck. Hot fuckety hot shit and god damnity damn does that sting.

  16. Thanks Philly for pulling your goalie with 4 minutes left. Never should have come to this. Get rid of Lalonde. He is part of the problem.

  17. Toretella knew the Flyers were dead by the time he pulled the goalie with 4 and change, he did it anyway to fuck over Pittsburgh ( I was watching that game, they announced the Wings Habs going to OT before Tort pulled the Goalie) that said, the Wings losing to AZ twice and SJ were 6 points that the Wings should have gotten, Larkin out or not, all those games early in the year that they blew 2+ goal leads came back to bite them in the ass .

Hopefully next year there will be more consistent play.

  18. When Jeff’s on the air, he has to be a good boy and watch his mouth. But when it comes to the podcast, fuck it, just be yourself. It’s fun.

  19. Sure didn’t sound like Kane plans on coming back the way he was saying “They” in his one interview. Caps got it done in the game against the Wings. Wings had shots but they were boxed out and hardly had any quality chances. They’re too soft with too many defensive liabilities. Sprong being one of the them. No way is Steve bringing him back. What a coaster.
