I want him to have a good quality of life into his 30s and beyond. Concussions are no joke. However, if he’s good to go it’s a game changer.

He should play 4th line and get less than 10 minutes for the first few games until he gets his legs back. So Rempe line will be even more electric. MSG will be going nuts.

this is amazing news here. but let me be clear and i hope everyone can understand this that has a normal sane mind. his health and his life should come first. not saying he should never play again. but the fact is, another concussion, could mean career over for him and especially since the rangers are playing the caps who are likely gonna be physical, this matchup isn’t the best thing. however, if something comes up(not around him) and if chytil has to be thrown into the lineup, manage him with care.
having said that, if he does play on the first line, does that mean babba roslovic comes out?

Amazing news! If he is in a top 6 jersey, I would imagine he slots in for Roslovic, who would move down to the fourth line and replace Rempe. I don’t think they want to mess with the third line, which has looked rock solid lately.
Based on line rushes today I don’t think Fil will play game one though. That is fine, I think this team will easily beat Washington in that game with or without him. But for the tougher matchups down the line having Fil back will be invaluable.

Is anybody concerned about rust? We’re in the playoffs and as much as I love Fil, he hasn’t played basically all year.

Chytil was never actually hurt. This was all a big cap circumvention play. Everything was staged to make it seem like everything was wrong. Also, Drury wanted the team to learn how to play without chytil in the lineup so he’d be our own deadline acquisition for free. We can now ice the absolute best lineup and while all the attention is on Vegas, we can do the same shit and no one noticed
I just worry about him taking that one bad hit. Especially with that *wonderful* example of sportsmanship Tom Wilson out there. Sure, Rempe hopefully is a deterrent, but I’d almost feel better waiting until we’re in the second round.
But, this is also possibly why I’m just a dude in the stands and not a paid professional coach in the NHL, so grain of salt on my opinion and all that.

Seriously, I hope Chytil is doing well. F’ hockey, it’s just a game. You just want to see the young man have a good quality of life.
If Chytil is ready to go for round 1 in a top 6 role, I’m going to start believing that his « setback » was salary cap shenanigans.
I will be so excited to see chytil back in the playoffs.

A fourth line rotation of Cuylle, Goodrow, Vesey, Rempe, Brodzinski is quite the sight to see. Thats some grinding depth if I’ve ever seen

I hesitate to put Chytil in there with Tom Wilson on the other side. We know he is about as a bad a person as exists in the NHL. We gotta figure out how to sideline him before risking Chytil’s life against that POS.
