Total BS – the only reason they tanked was because of the goal tending. I'm shocked that Marty let it go. All this talk is lipstick on a pig. Its not the coach that wins, it was the poor goalers. Even Eddie Giacomin, at his age would have been an upgrade. Eddie and Gilles Villemure are in their 80's and would have stopped the damn puck.

They lost their best shutdown D-man last year to free agency. They lost their elite pp D-man to injury. They lost their best FO man to sexual assault charges. They lost their best player and their captain for significant periods to injury. Tough to overcome all that especially with subpar goaltending.
