that’s ok. take a rest and comeback next season as a ppg player.

  2. Very happy about this. The stubborn ironman needs to rest.

good! 82 games is a grind, time to chill

  4. propagandavid

That’s disappointing. It could hurt his chances of making the Olympic team, too.

Thats a little disappointing to hear but totally understandable, he’s the only guy to stay healthy throughout this rebuild! Enjoy your rest Suzuki you earned it.

  6. bordercauley

Completely understandable, but somewhat disappointing considering this might make the difference regarding him being named to the Olympic/Four Nations squad. Would have been nice to see a Habs forward on Team Canada in best-on-best…it’s been a while.

Weirdos in the replies mad at Suzuki ‘’i’vE LoSt rEspECt😡’’ Let the man rest lol

  8. Carbogoat

Rest up, captain. Nobody cares about the World Championship anyway.

My read on this: he sustained some sort of injury in the OT vs Detroit in the final game. You could kind of see it, I was surprised he took the shootout.

he would have been 4th centre on the depth chart at best I imagine assuming the coach was looking for some sort of balance… I would pass too

His heart is 100% in making the Habs better. But this will hurt his outside chance to make team Canada for the Olympics.

All the more reason to cheer for the Slovaks!

    ^(and Caufield, but not USA)

I support his decision. He deserves some rest.

  14. IntentionDeep651

I dont mind if its Slaf vs Caufield or Slaf vs Suzuki in the finals

Good for him! Just because he has an iron-man streak doesn’t mean he’s obligated to play for team Canada. If they want him on the Olympic roster, then its up them.

Have a good vacation Nick. See you come training camp.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I’ve never really cared about the worlds because of the absence of so many top-tier players. Gold at the winter olympics is the best indicator of world dominance.

Nick deserves to make the choice that’s best for him. He played hard this year so probably needs to rest and recuperate. Hopefully next year’s season will extend into the playoffs!

Kid hasn’t missed a game since juniors. *knock on wood*

    He has earned a rest!!

Looks like he’s not making the Olympic team. Bummer.

  20. Extreme-Leather7748

He is 100% focused on making the Olympics as he should be. He also hasn’t missed an entire game in his career, I think he’s deserved to rest a bit

  21. MetalFungus420

If that’s his choice there is a reason. All good!!

I’m glad, he likely played injured again this season. Heal up, get some fresh air, relax and come back ready to go.
