Man that sucks. I love the prospect tournament, I hope more teams come back to it in the future.

Sad to see the tourney dwindle like this, has been a staple for 20? years now.

  3. Wonder what the reason is? Bummer, living up in TC it’s something I look forward to every year.

At least Jim Nill still appreciates the people of Traverse City

Beat us once, beat us twice, beat us chicken soup with rice.

Did we get any reason why? I haven’t watched the media availability for Yzerman yet so not sure if/where this was discussed, and how.

Bummer, it’s such a great tourney and I was hoping to get up there for it next season for the first time in ages…

Is it us? Do we smell or something?

  8. Aww, man. That’s so disappointing. I love the traverse city tournament.

Damn I was literally just talking to my dad yesterday about planning a vacation up to TC around the tournament. Guess it’s still doable to catch a game (or both) but a bit of a bummer. I wonder why?

Do people forget how much complaining there was about teams bringing goon-type players to this tournament and injuring prospects? I totally get why they would want to stop playing with a lot of other teams

Damn. Wanted to get up north this summer to watch that. You can still get tickets at the arena up there to watch them during training camp right?

In addition to everything else in this thread I suspect some GMs don’t want to risk injury to their top players. The tournament always has its fair share of lower-end prospects who want to stand out by beating on the top guys

Do not abandon the north please we love to see you 🙁

Probably an unpopular opinion, but good. Less time exposing Danielson, Kasper and co. to the inevitable 24 y.o enforcer « prospects » that have no skill and try to earn a job injuring skilled players. Happens to someone every single year

Damn, I live in and am from TC and only really got into hockey after just graduating from Michigan Tech this year, now UP CCHA hockey is dying and just when I thought I’d get some cool TC training stuff for NHL this happens. Sigh
