Anyone but the Rangers. I’ll adopt any team that beats them for the rest of the season.

Jeez.. Are the Panthers really the only team out of the east this year that I don’t hate?
I need to let go of all this negativity.

**East**
Panthers win 4-3 in a series full of up and downs
Boston wins 4-3, Matthews certified bitch boy
Washington 4-3 Ovi finishes them off with an OT goal for game 7 at the garden, Rangers forced to sell the team
Islanders have classic collapse, Caroline sweeps 4-0
**West**
Dallas wins 4-2
Winnepeg upsets, wins 4-3, Parise plays super gritty for the Avs averages 1 ppg but Hellebuyck is too good
Vancouver wins 4-1, Hughes officially the biggest brother
Oilers dominates 4-0, McDavid on a warpath

Florida is hard to overrate; you’d think losing OEL would be huge but wtf he’s their *fifth defenseman*. Whole team is crazy stacked top to bottom. Otoh, TBL have that mysterious hero factor that I think will pull out wins here and there. It’ll be a grueling, 7-game series that the Panthers may almost regret winning.
Boston Toronna, seems like this is Toronna’s year to win that one eh? If not it will be a total mystery how to fix that team. They have every advantage except of course, maybe the most important one, goaltending. But Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha vs Auston Matthews and John Tavares? Even for me, that’s too fantastical a scrappy underdog story. Plus I think: the league will want this to be the Leafs’ year, at least for this one matchup.
Rags vs Caps – it pains me to say – Rags in 6. Caps just don’t have it on the back end to keep up, or if they do, then it’ll be news to the world. I actually really like Charlie Lindgren but it’s quite the mismatch. Still, I’m confident the Caps soften the Rags up enough to collapse in their next series.
Canes-Isles I can’t pick agains tthe Canes here. I do think the Isles goaltenders have a chance to steal this one, as Carolina has proven streaky when it comes to goal scoring relative to their shot totals. But the Canes are probably big enough to withstand the physical pressure NYi is about to bring. I think this is the Canes’ year but tbh I hate making predictions like this. You never know who’s going to get hurt.

Interesting thought — in ‘93-‘94 the rags won presidents and cup, the following year we won our first cup (and got set up for the next two cups in the rivalry). In your opinion, would it be worth it to put up with a year of rags fans at their most obnoxious if you knew it meant we’d win the cup in ‘25?
