I’m sorry but this guy gives me total “weasel” vibes. He can pretend he still owns an NHL team all he likes… but he sold them already. All he “owns” is a logo and delusion. I’m thinking “team meetings”, (out in a plot of dirt he doesn’t own yet, not setting up meetings with all the myriad a government officials to determine if they will actually cooperate, et al…) is gonna be a very lonely exercise. I live in Canada and the Coyotes were my favourite team. My heart really goes out to the home fans!

Liar. Didn't address the glendale non payments saying 'i have 40 years of wealth' yet he didn't make payments due saying 'he didn't think they would evict him' yet they did for non payment. All merulo owns is the name and rights to block any expansion group attempting to come to phx. next five years or could just sell the rights to az. down the line. And they didn't ask merulo the big question-the legal action he was ready to take against nhl if they tried to a force a sale and they basically gave him a $ billion and rights to az. not to pursue legal action. Now just wait and see what happens on 6-27. Maybe he doesn't show up for auction or just lets someone out bid him for land. He could go away and still keep nhl out of az. Whether or not he's going to do this, he seemed to answer all of the questions nearly as soon as they were asked & not with any hesitation, which is a good indicator that he really wants to try his best to do this, however, having said that, it's something that's not going to be easy, especially when they'd faced so many problems from Arizona State & Local Officials & that's where it begins. Many years ago, we experienced the same or similar thing here in New York, with The Islanders & Nassau County. The Islanders then-owner, The Late Charles Wang wanted to Develop The Nassau Colliseum Lighthouse Project at the current site in Hempstead & was met with so much resistance, until they got the fiasco of moving the team to Brooklyn & then The Border Of Queens in Elmont. In the meantime, I have no idea what they're doing with the previous structure (I think that they're using it for various things, as I've heard). These things are so complicated, especially by Tons Of Governmental Issues & Bureaucracies that it's really irrelevant whether or not he's telling the truth, since, as he's said, it starta with Votes Of Approvals & Officials backing these projects with Votes. If you don't have that, you don't have anything. Let me know what you think

The coyotes were playing in like a 5000 seat arena at the end. Yet utah has already for 6000 deposits for season tickets for next season. What a joke, face it. Utah is a winter sports hub, arizona is the desert, hockey just doesnt work there. This guy should be trying for an MLS team not an NHL team

he's a punk ass only concern is the money. he would have been kicked out of the arena. fan appreciation night should have been 5000 seats free. all the coyotes staff should sue the owner for breach of contract for not paying the bills. sue him for 10 x your contracts
He just told us he doesn’t have the resources to properly fund a decent payroll without an arena being full, he’s in WAY over his head and should have taken the 700 mil profit and walked away clearing the way for someone with the proper resources to buy their way out of this problem in a way he can’t.
Muruelo is a joke who couldn't even bribe politicians properly to get anything accomplished. I doubt he can tie his shoes in 5yrs much less get an arena. Once he "loses" the bid for the property he be gone with his millions and millions. SCREW MURUELO, the NHL and SLC SUCKS!

If hindsight is 20/20 ,if Mr meruelo would have bought the team say in 2012 instead of when he purchased it, and settled whatever debts and instabilities that was occurring at the girls river arena and made a time line for a new arena til say by 2024 then y'all would see him under a different light , instead of beating down on an owner that tried at least a. Appreciate him for trying to keep the coyotes in Arizona rather than losing money constantly cause if y'all were in his position y'all would be running from those responsibilities like a frenchman.from a cap gun , b. Bitch and moan about him as a bad owner and reject his plan for Tempe new arena so the good people of Tempe have as much blame as whoever y'all want to blame . C. Blame the other owners that made the coyotes skate in mud . D.
