Bruins fan here. I thought the thing that killed the leafs was the start. They came out with a point to prove. You could see their emotion and excitement. But that led to a not great pinch for a hit that lead to the first goal. I think at the point, all the life was sucked out of them.

The Bruins had two goals go in off posts, had almost half the penalties called which is a joke and they were pretty badly outshot. Bottom line is listen to the guys that know(Real Hockey players) and save some years on your life.

I saw Toronto Maple Leafs win The Stanley cup in 1967. I was 11 years old. Many years later I feel like I have been reading the same book with the same sad ending 56 years in a row. and next year.I will read it again. My team is not in the playoffs this season (or last season, the season before that, and so on…), so I chose the Leafs this year to pull for. (I refuse to cheer for ANY teams in the West)
If they win game 2 in any fashion, you have just stolen home ice. Hasn't that been the mantra for about 50 years? Split on the road, win at home.
This entire series could change in Game 2.

Made it to 3:30 mark. Zack just as out of touch with reality as as 90% of the trash angry fanbase. "Didn't show up" is not an accurate description of the game plain and simple. Didn't get the results sure. Little lacking on the discipline, lacking a goaltender willing to battle, lacking finish. Only thing that wasn't lacking was effort by the skaters IE they "showed up" Were they outplayed or were they outscored.

Nobody ever mentions the Bruins plug d men into a predetermined, team mentality of systemic defence. The team itself, if you say has an avg player, he at least has to have a predetermined amount of grit, and be coachable and have buy in to the team system. Not to mention top down you have Cam Neely running the show- who as a 50 goal, 50 fight man- his dick holds the door for him when he walks into the locker room. There’s accountability ten fold. Too many drones on Toronto who don't sacrifice enough to win. Tavares is not a good captain, Matthews and Marner are too busy playing with the beibs, no leadership, just a bunch of superstars unwilling to make the hard sacrifice to get past the second round. And as far as goaltending, yes it's been abysmal at times, but there are plenty of average goalies who have won cups, the players in front of the goalie need to occasionally get in lanes to block shots, who does that on the leafs who is named tavares, marner, matthews or nylander, none of them. They're going to have to cut ties with one or more of those players of they want a cup, or expect disappointment every year.

this series is already over. any true leafs fan should realize by now this team has zero leadership, zero heart and when the intensity ratchets up….they fold like cheap suits and blame everything but THIER EFFORT. im sure this was yet another lesson learned….what fucking lessions are they learning because it sure as shit isnt show up and put in the work. so glad i stopped watching this team. they do not deserve any more of my time
Just press the replay button from the past 7yrs..Level of effort wasn't there, Bruins players wanted it more. Leafs stars not good enough nor willing to push through, too many unforced turnovers with a crappy PK & PP is the difference. Same effort same results!
