Allow me to attempt to rationalize it. Basically it comes down to insecurity.
Deep down they know Kuch deserves to win the Hart, he’s objectively the most valuable player in the league. Without him we wouldn’t even be in the playoffs. Avs would be fine without MacK.
Mile-high MacKaltitude padded his stats at home and against bottom feeder teams while Kuch steps up and gathers points more-so against contender teams. Shit talking, projecting and creating false narratives (while apparently not even being able to count) helps them deal with those insecurities. They know the writers are going to gift wrap the Hart to their golden boy even though he truly doesn’t deserve it.
This, coupled with the fact that they got bounced in the first round last year against the SEATTLE KRAKEN (😂) after winning a cup that was essentially gift wrapped to them by missed and favorable calls in 2022 and it all starts to make sense. Projection and insecurity at its finest.
And to add- I’ve never seen any hostility from Avs fans after 2022, this all started this year which further cements my point.
