1. KEYS TO SUCCES:
    – I think Nylander, Marner, and Tavares are paid fairly
    – Sheldon Keefe has proven TIME and TIME again that he is an NHL coach
    – Our defense might be the best in the league? If not number one then number two.
    – Brendan Shanahan deserves all the credit…he deserves a pay increase, this is Shanahan's legacy

Brendan Shanahan signed April 11, 2014
    2014-15 – Did not Qualify
    2015-16 – Did not Qualify
    2016-17 – Lost first round Washington 4-2
2017-18 – Lost in first round Boston 4-3
2018-19 – Lost in first round Boston 4-3
2019-20 – Lost in Play-in round Columbus 3-2 (did not make the playoffs)
2020-21 – Lost in first round Montreal 4-3 (lost to Montreal…they had 11 wins less than Toronto in a 56 game season)
2021-22 – Lost in first round Tampa 4-3
2022-23 – Lost in second round Florida 4-1 (almost got swept)

2024-2025 Season – 924 players in the NHL:

Auston Matthews – 1st highest paid player in NHL ($13,250,000)

William Nylander – 6th highest paid player in NHL ($11,500,000)

John Tavares – 9th highest paid player in NHL ($11,000,000)

Mitch Marner – 12th highest paid player in NHL ($10,800,000)

Get Brendan Shanahan a statue immediately! I don't care about sharing the memory of a cup with my Dad, he got those guys PAYDAYS!

  2. Other then Rielly they dont have top 4 D. The gm spent 22mill in the offseason and got.klinberg and lagesson. Good replacements lol for muzzin who will never play again…they have a plethora of 3rd pairing dmen playing minutes they shouldn't. Leafs will NOT get past the first round or any round until they actually have top 4 d.

  3. There is no winning culture. The Leafs need a new owner that gives a f&^%. ML$E doesn't care. The Shanaplan is a failure after 10 years. Weak D and G. Not a playoff team.

The bigger joke, is that in 30 years, not 1, ONE, Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup. The joke is on all fans in Canada.

  4. At least I got to watch the last Leafs Stanley Cup championship in 1967! Though I didn't realize then that it would likely NEVER happen again …

  5. The delusional views you bring when it comes to Samsonov is absurd, you realize that he was waved this season and no one claimed him. Red flag number one. The fact that they need to figure out a way to let no shots on goal is the only way they win. He! Samsonov hasn't had form all season all those wins were from the team playing on their heals and playing so defensively, then you put Woll in and the team gives up the most shots on goal this season. They have a better chance at a win with Woll opposed to needing to get at least 5 goals to win = No chance! Samsonov and Georgiev are not NHL goalies back up at best. These teams have no chance with theses two in net!

  6. Marner should have been traded. He's a good regular season player but his shortcomings become evident in playoff hockey (he looked scared to do anything out there the other night)

  7. The Reaves hit. For the entirety of his time as coach Keefe has made it clear that it is optional for forwards to fulfill their defensive responsibilities. He has also made it clear that he wants the D to pinch and keep the puck in. So Edmundson pinched and Reaves didn't drop back to take his place. Exactly up to Keefe's standards.

Matthews hitting posts. Yea, just this summer he wanted to be paid as the best player in the league. Those need to be goals not excuses. Matthews got the easy D match up and the second line that has a 35 year old Marchand on it. There is no excuse for not having his name on the score sheet.

The stupid penalties put the game completely out of reach. Keefe didn't like the Domi slashing penalty. That was the only one I liked. When the game was already lost everyone should have taken a turn slashing or crosschecking Marchand.

Deserve to win o'meter is a monument that proves the eye test is better than so called anylitics.

Special teams, the PK wouldn't have been an issue if every single player on the Matthews line didn't take a stupid penalty. The PP has been a problem for a lot of the year. What did they do? Boston's was struggling and the coach made changes. I forget how they worked out for them though.

Nylander, you have to think it is an illness.

What they need to win. Play with a little discipline.

  8. It was hardly from a solid performance. Leafs stars didn't look dangerous at all. They could have played for 120 minutes and they still would have had only 1 goal. They have to drive the net and stand in front of the goalie like Geekie did on one of the Bruins goals.

  9. Even about 4 years ago when this Leafs Core 4 were in their peak (still they lost to Columbus) this Leafs Core 4 have never been a Stanley Cup Playoff Contender. They just don’t thrive with playoff physical hockey and playoff officiating.

Likely to stay in their comfort zone – Leafs will win one game and then exit for their spring golf tee off times. Go Leaf go! 😀

  10. How can you progress with a proven failing core that eats up too much cap, which results in an AHL level Backend.

  11. Team stunk and refs dictated the game allot of selective calls. They definitely helped the massholes.

  12. People still take the leafs seriously? I gave up in 86’ missed almost 40 yrs of torture..They will never win until the get rid of everyone and start with a good goalie and defense first…
