Atlanta, Arizona/Pheonix, Minnesota (North Stars), Quebec all share the same key factor. Terrible ownership and quite frankly terrible GMs. The NHL needs to do a better job vetting their owners.
The closer the leafs are to a milestone the more they choke. It's fascinating.
Yotes weren’t the only ones saying goodbye tonight, Jeff Carter retired tonight as well.
The NHL has been fucking us over with the 8:50 pm local starts for nearly a decade now. Especially in the playoffs. Every weekday home game in the first round will be an 8:50pm local start. It's total bullshit.
I started cheering for the Yotes as a second team a couple of years ago because I was convinced they were going to be moved to Houston (I love the Stars, part of my soul will always rebel against cheering for a Dallas team). Ignoring the fact that they didn't go where I wanted, this feels sad, and I think I'd feel the same if they'd gone where I wanted them to go. People say the fans didn't deserve the Yotes, but that's cap. The Arizonans who bought in are among the best hockey fans on the planet. There just weren't enough of them.
“The flyers screwed over the pens and wings”
No they didn’t lmao.
Why are some teams fans so dumb? Like bro, wings ruined themselves, Maybe don’t lose a bunch of games while fighting for a playoff spot, Maybe don’t trail behind the 2023 Habs until 10 seconds left in the third making the flyers have to pull the goalie lmao.
Wings did it to themselves, Stop crying over your team being unable to beat a trash team lmao
Im not a leaf fan i just want to make that clear but this whole mathews 70 goal chase has been a huge distraction in toronto and may cost them big.. theyve played so sloppy just trying to get this guy his goals and now you've got boston waiting on you and they may be in big trouble.. what a horrible way these leafs are entering the post season. I wish them luck, id like to see them beat boston but wouldnt lay my own money on it, thats for sure.
Arizona’s goalie faced 30 shots when Edmonton had 29… was that one from the owner?
Isles on an amazing run bar the 2nd game against Rangers, which they shouldn't have lost on SO. Resting several players and still win.
I'd say the Blues do need to make white a few changes. The goaltending was the only reason we were not bottom 5 to 10 in the league. They will need to move one of the big contract defenseman as well as possibly a veteran forward. Changes need go happen. The team does not have a Stanley cup winning defense.
From a Caps fan who once attended a 'Save the Caps' campaign…my heart felt sympathies to Coyotes fans. May the Yotes howl again.
Owners like Meruelo and Fisher need to be removed from the sports landscape.
What an outstanding job from the broadcast crew! I watched the whole thing from start to finish, and it was pure and heartfelt. I'll always remember the Coyotes and that last game. That broadcast crew I'm telling you is some of the best to do it!
At least they got to finish the game. First time in my sports watching life I remember a team moving was when the Washington Senators moved to Texas and the last game in Washington they had a riot and had to forfeit the game to the Yankees. Also going back in memory, though not as far, I remember the Islanders trying to get Bossy his 70th goal, on two occasions, but he never got it. Not even the year he scored 50-in-50. He ended up with 69 and 68. But one of those years the Islanders did win a Stanley Cup, so that was some consolation.
Very classy by the Islanders to line up and personally shake Jeff Carters hand at the end of the game. Just goes to show that, no matter how hard the battles are over the years, hockey is ultimately about respect.
Horrible…get your butt at the last game….
Random fun fact:
The first game of the regular season for Dallas was a 2-1 shootout win at home against the Blues.
The final game of the regular season for Dallas was a 2-1 shootout win at home against the Blues.
That owner is full of sh… won't show up at the land auction either. Yotes.
Give some credit to Kuch. You spent more time talking about Jeannot
I feel horrible for yotes fans keep your heads up yall will get a franchise back without that owner 💚🧡🤍
I like how now Amos people are in agreement that hockey belongs in the desert (it does) but before then also said move the team.
As a Tampa fan, this game made an otherwise pretty shitty birthday worthwhile. Great season, go bolts🫡
Meruelo didn't get rich because he was stupid. He's keeping the name and the brand so he can sell it for a cool tens of millions of dollars to whoever gets a new Arizona franchise, IF it ever happens.
i didnt realize how special it was at the time, but i was at the Rangers home opener this year against the coyotes. i’m happy to have been able to watch this team in person at least once. they deserved better.
1:27 So, Seinfeld? A game about nothing… except it's Jeff Carter's final game. He scored but the team lost; sounds like the gang, don't it?
Sorta surprised you didn't mention that ridiculous save by Otter just reaching out his stick after being clearly beat with wide open net on Thomas's overtime shot. That was unreal. Thomas just laughing, shaking his head. It was a fun game to watch.
we've been game going coyotes fans since inaugural game sept. 21, 1996. of course piece of shit meruelo didn't attend the game ,, he knows it would have gotten real ugly for him , he should be jailed for his lies , fraud and deliberate incompetence, we strongly suggest piece of shit meruelo never set foot in arizona again.
honest question…why does this move feel worse and more heartbreaking than like…with the Thrashers leaving Atlanta or Hartford going to Carolina??
No one saw CEO Gutierrez either. The game was great and watching from the Coyotes attack twice end was awesome!
Meruelo doesn't deserve another franchise. He's the Dan Snyder of the NHL
My controversial view on how a lot of NHL fans have been taking the Coyotes relocation.
I’m glad this saga is finally over. Let’s not start looking at the Yotes with rose tinted glasses now that it’s over. They weren’t a good franchise. They just weren’t. Outside of 2012, they had few memorable seasons during their stay in the desert. Arizona never did themselves any favors with the people by having miserable season after miserable season for years. In the American Sports Landscape, if you fail to give any incentives and/or reasons to help you stay, that’s your fault. Specifically ownerships. With how many times the Coyotes have been given to live by Bettman & the owners, at what point do you just breath a sigh of relief that it’s finally over & just admit the experiment didn’t work?
All of that said, it no doubt sucks for people in Arizona. Especially the diehards who stood by them through thick & thin.
Sp tp me the fact that U as owner dont show up to the last game says to me ur not confident u can get the team back in the 5 year window.
From an Oilers fan, I'm glad they won. They deserved to go out with a bang, but they earned it through their play, too. I hope hockey comes back to Arizona soon. Hopefully with someone a lot better at the helm! You all deserve it.
That Coyotes game was hard to watch. Just such a heartbreaking game to watch. I'm happy that team won, and I'm really happy the fans in Arizona got something the fans in Atlanta did not: The chance to say goodbye.
so the thing I will ALWAYS be grateful for the Coyotoes for is without them the Leafs dont get Auston Matthews.
Arizona got dumped on by the owner, CEO, and NHL owners. Too much incompetence and dishonesty from fawker team Meruelo/Gutierrez. At this point I'm indifferent to a Phoenix expansion team. All that time spent waiting to build draft picks, build a team, get a good GM, and they still find a way to piss it away.
Hey Shannon, can you explain to me why people are upset that media and fans are saying Matthews failed to hit 70 goals please? It’s a fact. Is it because they think that failing at a personal goal makes you a failure as a whole? You always have such a grounded opinion so I’d love to hear it.
U look sad when u have to announce a good bolts outcome.
2 and 1 yerstday 711 and518 and 82 record in the season
Billionaires can make mistake after mistake in business, and still have the leverage to survive. Half the people in this channel could run a team better than Meruelo.
Looks like playoff Matthews is here early🔥🔥🔥
Love your jersey. Coyote fan and I always appreciated your coverage of my team. Thank you
OH WE BACK
I'm not a Coyotes fan, but am a hockey fan, and so I made sure to watch that last game. Brutal listening to the crew reminiscing, and then joking about unemployment.
That owner better bring one heck of a building to the table with a lot of fan service, giveaways and really positive behavior. His son probably shouldn't be allowed near the social media stuff anymore. And after hearing about the Doan banner, that better be put up on night one.
Surprised no mention of Otter’s rediculous nonchalant deflection in OT
all respects to the Yotes… sad days indeed
Edmonton escapes Vegas.
Dallas has their hands completely full.
It has took me a while, but I just had to watch the final Coyotes review. Goodbye Arizona
