I’m not sure what all this talk about “unlocking” things is for Matthews. It was a great win he had a great game, but it was 1 game. Let’s talk about unlocking beast mode when he’s actually taken us on a run.
Sure hope Keefer keeps the big 3 separated. The buds need 4 solid lines.
If they win this game I will believe! unfortunately I have no faith!! That's their fault!! Go Leafs Go!!
About Nylander…
Yes, optically I can see where Sammy is coming from. He's out skating, all smiles, appears fine.
But to question if Nylander just doesn't want to play.. I don't question Nylander's loyalty to the club. Its obviously something serious.
For all we know, it could be heart problems or something. It could be a back problem. We just don't know.
This panel swings back and forth like a wind sock. If Leafs Nation truly has a boom or bust character, theReal Kypper and Bourne show leads the parade. Note any conversation on Samsonov for example.
Will the invisible man appear in game 3?
Marner isnt holding the puck because he doesnt like the playoff hitting. Love his PK work but he doesnt like the contact.
Sammy hold it together bud,the Willie segment was turning into amateur hour for ya,a hurt back …yer f*@$!
Kampf has to start winning clutch defensive zone faceoffs.
I love him,but Paul Maurice is such a bullshit artist in these pressers
2:47 – "We're winning the Cup, or blow it up!" Great slogan to carry right up to the finals!
Kyper showing how he loves marner and hates matthews. He couldn’t say a single nice thing about matthews and how dominated last game. It was only Sammy and Bourne complimenting him. Kyper couldn’t take how marner was getting destroyed while matthews played amazing.
I'm sorry. With the exception of Domi, Bertuzzi, Samsonov and maybe Tavares (I only include him because of that second goal), the team played GARBAGE…UNTIL Matthews scored that goal, AND ONLY AFTER they took those two penalties. That's when the entire team woke up out of the hangover of Matthews not getting to 70 goals in the regular season, and started playing playoff hockey.
Before that point, I honestly thought the Leafs were incapable of out-skating Boston; like it was due to physical anatomy of each player or something. Time and time again, Boston would recover the puck cleanly after shooting it into the Leafs zone; no battles along the board needed. Time and time again, Boston had no trouble setting up in the Leafs zone, with the point-men having plenty of space and time between them and the covering Leafs. There was almost no such thing as an odd man rush from the Leafs, because the Bruins would catch up. Bruins sticks, skates and bodies were always there to intercept the Leafs puck movement. The checking was much cleaner and more devastating by the Bruins. And let’s not forget: the Leafs powerplay, with the exception of the one where Tavares scored, has been GARBAGE, and their penalty killing has been better, but not by much.
Finally, why the f*ck do the Leafs take risks in their own zone, as if it’s the Bruins’ zone? They did this crap with Florida last year, leading to some of the most spectacularly garbage goals; for example, Matthews, when he tried to figure skate around the Panthers defense…IN THE LEAFS ZONE…instead of focusing on getting the damn puck out. They pass into corners or open ice in their own zone with no one there, they pass to teammates who are already closely covered, they try to out-muscle Boston instead of focusing on getting the puck out, and breaking up Boston’s formidable set-ups in their zone. It should be a capital offense to allow the Bruins control of the puck in your zone after you have it on your stick.
Again, the saving grace were the players above, and the Leafs performance after the Matthews goal. I’m hoping that they study their play before and after that goal to see how they should be playing going forward. If they can adapt to the latter kind of play, they might just repeat the underdog, exciting ’93 feat that will always be my standard of excellence…and hopefully, there’s no Gretzky around to give Matthews a high stick at a crucial moment this time around. They HAVE to adapt, though.
Kyper with all the excuses for the 11 million dollar guy ..not hig enough of strong enough to win the puck? I see point doing it as center man. Stamkos isn't huge either. Many other "small" guys. It's a weak mentality unless he proves otherwise…
I can't be the only one who thinks these random soundbites being inserted are just absolutely horrendous……. the quality, the timing, the cheesiness….. there is literally nothing good about them.
Double shift St.Matthews he has the hot hand and Keefe has the last change. He put the team on his back in game 2 with 3 points.
Game 2 McCabe sh.. the bed, fault for perhaps both goals, lack of coverage, horrible penalty. Keep him in, because he cleans up the mess with hits and good puck movement. Lygrin no hits, no shots, bad coverage on one goal, replace him with TJ B immediately.
Bruins have a problem in goal???? Between the 2 goaltenders they've stopped 66 of 70 shots, .943 save pct. And that is against the Leafs' juggernaut offense. Ullmark was not the reason the Leafs won. He was the reason they only scored 3 goals.
Kyper calling JT a below average passer is downright disrespectful. He's got almost 600 assists!!!!
Kypers love affair with Cowardly Marner continues. Marner is Tony Amonte…. cant win with that guy.
BEHIND EVERY GREAT VICTORY IS A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE
The same guys complaining about Nylander not playing would be the same one/ complaining if he was playing and was terrible because he wasn’t healthy enough to play and rushed back from injury
The Utah Crackers! 😅
The Leafs are TERRIBLE when there’s only a few seconds left in the period. Anytime, all the time.
You’d think the coach of such a team would have it sorted out by now.
