The importance of tanking right when you can. There will always be great players coming through but you’re rarely in a position to compete for them.
Last 3 drafts including this one were our opportunity. I personally wouldn’t mind one more shot at the lottery – even if it’s an 10/11th spot with really low odds.
Hopefully we won’t have this opportunity again for at least 10-15 years after that.

Notable prospects in this game
Liam Greentree, LW/RW, projected top 10-15 pick
Tij Iginla, LW, projected top 10-15 pick
Ryder Ritchie, RW, projected late 1st
Henry Mews, RHD, projected late 1st
Sweden doesn’t have anyone projected in the 1st round
Bohmer
not going to happen. We might draft Iginla though!

I love how we’ve got Lecavalier and St-Louis in the organization now.
Would’ve been better if they played here, but they’ll get their names on the cup again here regardless.

We’re going to suck forever and mask it as tanking, aren’t we? We’re the new Sabres I guess.

No.

We kinda simp over Lecavalier even though he looked us off multiple times in his career. I trust Hughes but I wonder what he even does for us, or how good he is at it. Seems like one of those guys who just has a job based on reputation.

Vinny probably telling Hughes that same « interesting » story for the umpteenth time.
Brobov overhearing it, looks skywards and thinks, « Not this one again… »

Keep an eye on Jacob Ihs-Wozniak. 07 birthday, so eligible in 2025. Already 6’3 180 lbs, already one of the best player in the junior Swedish league. Shifty skating, great puck distributor.
He was born in Australia, so most likely gonna end up the highest Australia-born player ever drafted, or at least some sort of trivia answer.

McKenna already has 1¼ year of junior and isn’t draft eligible until 2 more years.
His game game will have been dissected to death by the time his draft comes around.
