seems weird since he traveled with the team

BAH GAWD IS THAT THE SOUND OF ME CRYING INTO A PILLOW?

  6. Stinky_Toes12

If it aint friedman ion wanna hear it

  7. IamPriapus

Take it one game at a time. If Demmers is really out, then so be it. He got us up to this point, we trudge on without him between the pipes.

  8. Voltage604

This seems like some random person. I’ll wait till someone credible confirms this before I freak out

  9. Zestyclose-Way-7768

Her Twitter feed is ramble-y and attention grabbing as fuck. I’m staying far away from this talking head and their opinions.

  10. deeho88

If it’s true. Fuck. But we’re still in it. Let’s fucking go boys

If desmith doesn’t look great next game let’s see of silovs has that dog in him, could be our cam ward miracle run

  13. jaytrew

I’m hearing that we should stop speculating. Until it’s someone from the Canucks organization announcing it I won’t believe it, all these constant posts with speculation about Demko are just too stressful.

  14. DiscoTots

I’m getting so much whiplash with the reporting on this . I’m inclined to believe Dhali more considering the connections he has. Only one who knows for sure is demko.

  15. bwoah07_gp2

Demko is injury prone….too injury prone.

    This sucks.

  16. avmp629

Realistically, the only way we make a deep playoff run is if DeSmith or Silovs play way above their level or the offense picks up the slack. If we even made it deep into the second round, it would show that one of those things happened and we didn’t end up needing Demko anyway. So whether his injury was 2 weeks or 6, the outlook of our team changes without him.

  17. Infinite-Tomorrow-15

Why can’t we have nice things

  18. decentish36

We all knew this was coming. Week to week means realistically at least 3 weeks. Going out for that long and returning mid playoffs was never a likely scenario. Just have to hope the boys can push to round 2 and get some playoff experience.

  19. It went from day to day to week to week, now it’s done for the playoffs

Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow I won’t see Demko announcing retirement

  20. I’m going to wait for Dhaliwal to confirm, he made it sound like it wasn’t THAT bad, she may be the canes reported I just don’t see her having that many connections to the Canucks

  21. gonuxgo

I love Demko but the dude is so fucking injury prone.

    2015 – hip surgery

    2016 – 1 upper body injury

    2018 – concussion

    2019 – concussion

2020 – clean bill of health

    2021 – 1 lower body injury, 1 undisclosed injury

    2022 – 1 lower body injury, 1 undisclosed injury

2023 – clean bill of health

    2024 – 2 lower body injuries

They’re becoming more frequent throughout his career.

  22. humblearugula8

Nobody reporter taking a stab at being the first to say Demko is done done, so it will look like she breaks something big. Clout chasing. Not credible.

  23. Greatly hurt our chances but it’s a huge chance for DeSmith/ Silovs to step in and become our hero.

  24. Knight_On_Fire

Well it’ll still be entertaining to see how far they can go anyways. It’s not like a decade or two ago when the name of the game in the playoffs changed from « hockey » to « goalie. »

At some point Silovs will get a start and we can enjoy a brief hope for a hockey miracle as we find out how well he can compete with the goalie on the other side of the ice. He will get a start. One feather in his cap is he has displayed poise under extreme pressure before and that’s not nothing and the giant defense will shield him or die trying.

If you’ve ever played Darkest Dungeon there comes a point when a character is under so much pressure they completely snap but there’s a low percentage chance they shine in the darkness when all hope is supposed to be lost. It’s rare but, like I say, we can only hope for a hockey miracle now.

  25. intelligentx5

We should probably wait for this to be corroborated before taking someone that doesn’t report on the Canucks’ word

  26. tearfear

Considering that every other journalist and the coach has not said this, except for Sara Civ who I’ve never heard of, I would take this with a pretty substantial grain of salt.

  27. Obvious-Property-236

Desmith will not be the reason we don’t win in the playoffs. But he won’t steal us games either.

It’s going to be an uphill battle and unless our offense does a 180, we’re toast. We’re going to have to out score our problems in net when we’re already struggling to score.

The only thing we have going for us is that we have three games to figure it out. Oh, and we gotta figure it out for our goaltending on the road.

    Yikes.

  28. FrozenToonies

Demko guaranteed second maybe third round. I have faith in Desmith as much as anyone. It’s an opportunity for him to shine.
It’s not the Demko/Markstom argument again about having 2 first starters.
Desmith is an above average goalie in the league he just may not be ready for what’s coming.

  29. Kittygotabadrep

Casey has a chance to become a Vancouver legend for eternity

  30. TheOdiin

if they can’t beat nashville without demko they didn’t even deserve to be in the playoffs to begin with tbh

  31. sMc-cMs

So both Friedman and Dreger have recently said:

    “It’s a significant injury.” And “I don’t like what I’m hearing”

    Whereas Dhaliwal has said:

“A lot of the reports that this is a serious injury and he could be out months and months – not hearing that.”

Looks like there’s two separate messages being sent out.

    Wait and see I guess.

Also if tomorrow night doesn’t go well its def time for Silovs:

  32. Artie-Fufkin

I made peace with this already, I’m not surprised.

  33. TheGreatNathan

This is our chance to prove if we are legit contenders or not. If losing Demko dooms us in the first round then we’ve got a big problem. We have been one of the best teams in the league all season and now it’s time to prove it. Nashville is just a bubble team that got hot at the right time. We shouldn’t need Demko to advance to the second round.

  34. Psycoze

On the plus side. (Future that is). This is our first year back. Our core hasn’t hit its prime yet. I’m just happy we made it. The future is bright. Making the playoffs was a win. Winning a round is a big win! We want the cup. Fuck yea! But at the end of the day. I’m proud of the boys this year.

  35. jackfrench9

Genuinely tragic shit. Absolute dagger through the heart stuff.

  36. Ju1ez001

Desmith is never going to be more than a backup. Put Silovs in there and see if there is some playoff magic.
