My grandmother once had a saying, "You don't gain anything staying in your own yard". Gaudreau,being from New Jersey, would have had significantly more pressure to perform playing for his hometown team. If he didn't have a strong start,the fans would make him miserable,and he probably wouldn't even be able to go food shopping without some fan getting in his face. People don't understand that athletes have lives outside of the sport they play
