We need an affiliate ASAP so they’re better than nothing but only barely. Fuck these bozos, hope we can ditch them as soon as we can and start our own team with blackjack and hookers, etc.
I’m hoping that their affiliation is with some other NHL team and the Canes can then affiliate with whatever team that other NHL team split with. I guess being with them is better than not having an AHL affiliate at all, but after what they did, I’d prefer not to maintain that connection.
Charlotte (Florida Panthers), Syracuse (Tampa) and Milwaukee (Nashville) are the 3 options realistically available for sale.
Milwaukee has been with Nashville for 20+ years. Tampa with Syracuse for 10+. Charlotte was one of 3 teams that sat out the COVID year which may indicate a willingness to sell.
The Canes have been sitting on their AHL news for a month+. If I had to take a wild guess Dundon bought Milwaukee or Syracuse and is waiting for them to finish out their Playoff run before we get an announcement out of respect for their fanbase. Or maybe Kahn finally caves. Whatever it is they are waiting on something. If it was just another Chicago deal it would have been announced already.
