If the Rangers or their fans fear teams that can barely make the playoffs they don't deserve to be the #1 seed. FEAR NO ONE!!! None of these teams are the '22-'23 Panthers.
The Rangers need to score 1st and force the Caps into trying to play their game. If the Caps get an early lead, then they will be able to sit back and paly to their defensive game.

Not too worried about this first round matchup, obviously it is the playoffs and ANYTHING could happen. However we played the caps during our worst stretch when we were shaky and Igor was a shadow of himself. Igor has returned to form and if he keeps it thru the playoffs we will be in every game and have a chance to win every series. With that said I agree I think the Pens were worst case scenario and wings or flyers would have been best case, Caps are somewhere in the middle given styles of play. If lindgren continues his amazing play down the stretch it might be a long low scoring series but I think we have enough in 6. LGR!!!!
I’m hoping the Rangers play hard and try to win in 4-5 games. That way they can go into round 2 well rested. I hope the Canes and Isles have a 7 game, brutal war of a series. Which I could see. Isles have looked scary lately, I doubt they’ll be an easy out.

I’m just glad we won the last game and didn’t get the isles. Hopefully we handle business and the isles give a good fight to the canes.
As a Caps fan, I have nothing but respect for this Rangers squad. Y'all are legit. We're just thrilled that we even made it, but I agree with Derek's take. We are playing well defensively (even with some key guys banged up) and if Lindgren can continue playing lights out, we could push this to 6 or 7 games. Anything goes in the playoffs, especially when it's a division rivalry.

Rangers need to bury the Capitals early. Sweep the MSG games, and go all out in game 3, and finish in either game 4 or 5. Don’t let them feel like they have a chance.
