Yeah and Bruins too. They chanted it when they won against the Leafs in game 1. Someone told me that Tampa have been using it the whole year
I kinda miss the na na na na heyheyheygoodbye chant. This should make a comeback

Steal from *whom* exactly?

Meh, it’s just a recording. It’s never going to hit as hard as les partisans at the Bell Centre.

To be fair they’re about to be eliminated from the playoffs so let them have something I guess.

I can’t wait for the original Habs chant ‘Na,na,na, na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye!’ to make a comeback.
The crowd hasn’t been confident enough to throw that one in the mix in decades. I’m looking forward to some real playoff games at the end of this dark, bleak tunnel.

I dont know where to start with the stupidity of a hockey chant being « stolen »
someone on this sub said it would be controversial to have a Canadian flag passed around at a habs game because of the quebec history ignoring First Nations claims to the land.
I dont like certain songs being sung along to by fans if other teams have them as their thing that was organically grown. Sweet Caroline seems to be a Boston thing for example. But apparently I am a killjoy if I think it is stupid if fans in the bell centre start singing it. Tabernac we have the cowboys frigant!
Seems this city has no culture war to fight unless we look for it. Maybe this is a North American city with a top line of non French Canadians and we should be happy to be considered as such at this point.

I mean half the audience in TB are old quebecers.

> « Olé, Olé, Olé » is a chant used in sport. The chant is based on the Spanish interjection « Olé » used to signify approval by the spectators in bullfighting; however, the chant is not used in Spain. The popular version of the « Olé, Olé, Olé » chant was first used in a 1985 song written by the Belgians Roland Verlooven and Grand Jojo called « Anderlecht Champion » as « Allez, Allez, Allez, Allez » in French, but became « Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé » in Spanish in a version titled « E Viva Mexico » created for the Mexico 86 World Cup. This version of the chant quickly spread around the world and chanted by football fans in tribute to a team or a player, and it is now also widely used in other sports as well as in non-sporting events.
Either no fan base owns it or we all stole it from Mexico.

They were chanting it in Boston after the game 1 win. Made me sick.
Vingt-Quatre
It’s from the arena P.A.
The team did this,

We don’t even sing it anymore at the bell center. Long gone are the days of the molson ex zone. Slowly chanting the opponents goalies name. Na na na naa. Olé olé. The bell center is definitely not like it used to be. Hopefully we can get the city behind us again one day
