  1. Even with kings dominating in shots, Edmonton still had more dangerous chances and obviously the only goal. Skinner was good but far from spectacular. In hockey it's not how many shots you get it's the quality and ability to convert. Kings again showed issues with scoring. 1 goal in 2 home games, ridiculous.

  2. Kings fans players and management continuing to say they played well. No team in history has won without scoring a single goal. Is the bar really that low?

  3. The Kings never truly challenged Skinner as far as taking away vision, crashing the net… it was Shot-Save-Faceoff all night long.
I do agree, the Kings deserved the W.

  4. They always say the hardest game to win is the close out game however I've no doubt that the Kings will look and play more distressed Game 5 than the Oilers will. That's just how this team operates. Do not know how to handle pressure whatsoever.

  5. The pld trade is hunting us now what a big disappointment the oilers as on a higher level the kings is just not good enough for the third year in row out in first round

  6. Not gonna lie, that’s a tough way to lose. You guys were the much better team and deserved to win. Just the way it goes sometimes.

I’m an Oilers fan but I feel so bad for you. There’s nothing the Kings can do to beat the Oilers.

The Kings are simply outmatched by the Oilers in every way possible.

  7. This one hurt.. I couldn’t believe it at all.

Do they not know how to get in front of the net?! I feel like all we do is just shoot from the sides.. which baffles me

  8. Yeah that Kings penalty was a bit suspect. But come on now – the rest of the way, the refs also completely ignored many flagrant infractions from the Kings. For example Doughty just blatantly grabbing McDavid on what would have been a breakaway. They were really going out of their way trying to NOT give the Oilers any more pp’s.

  9. Reffs clearly missed a call on LA player interfering with McDavid by grabbing him on a forecheck into LA’s zone. Missed called on both sides. The “high stick” penalty against Edmonton was also soft AF – difference is, Edmonton capitalized on the PP and have been doing that consistently, whereas the kings have not!

  10. Oilers Brought their C+ game and the Kings still couldn't do shiet 😂 and btw I'm in LA, not a Kings fan in sight. The guy beside me at the bar is from LA and would rather watch the Sun's game!! This city doesn't deserve an NHL team.

  11. What's so shocking here? Lol the Oilers beat the Kings at their own game. Get a lead, then dump it out at every opportunity, then plug up the neutral zone, get the puck back then dump it out again, box them out, block shots, force LA to make shots on the perimeter, don't give in to the Kings penalty baiting, stay out of the box, rinse and repeat. The Kings simply couldn't find another gear to get around any of that. Edmonton executed their game plan to perfection. The Kings completely maxed out their skill level. Game 4 is the best you'll ever see the Kings play and they still lost.

  12. Hopefully the kings can play this well in game 5, and yes they played well despite being shut out. Just a tough task any time that PP for the Oilers is on the ice, damn scary

  13. That's playoff hockey. The Kings deserved that win but didn't. The hockey gods were against them. Now, for the hurtful truth. The Oilers have 8 PP goals. The Kings have ZERO! Even strength goals, both teams have 10. That's why the Kings are down, 3-1. Two years ago, Oilers win in 7. Last year, Oilers win in 6. This year? I see a pattern here. How to change it? How about winning your division and be a first seed. How about finishing second in the division? Either the Kings system don't work or the Kings don't have players to play their system. Honestly, I don't have any answers…

  14. Your opinion shows a fundamental lack of understanding of hockey. Oilers game plan was to keep the kings shooting from the perimeter and to make sure traffic near the net was minimal and rebounds cleared away. In this sense 33 shots on net is very misleading, since there were very few high quality scoring chances that LA generated. Firing perimeter shots all game against NHL goalies rarely wins during the regular season, let alone the playoffs. LA played physical and high energy but they lack the ability to create offense and ultimately are not a dangerous team.

  15. Feel like the big long poor me tangent about the ONE PP the Kings had to kill is pretty ironic when the high stick that was called against the Oilers was also absolutely imaginary. Not to mention the slew of calls let go favoring the Kings: interference on McDavid headed up ice for a breakaway, huge slash in the final minute and quite a few very heavy cross checks. You have a very well produced show but that's a ridiculous amount of air time spent complaining about refs when it very well could have been a much worse night to be a King's penalty killer.

  16. I think whenever the home team gets shut out in a playoff game, the fans in attendance get a full refund and have it come out of the players' salary.

  17. You could also maybe argue that because oilers are dominating special teams play so much that the refs calling so little in the game itself was a little unfair. At least is favoured the kings. Still not enough.

  18. What the HELL Are you talking about they did everything? they didn't score on the PP They couldn't with the PK THEY WERE SHIT!!!

  19. lol, half your Kings rant was about 1 penalty call over the course of a 60 minute game. If I can think of one word to describe your analysis, it would be “whiner”.

  20. On home ice… having lost the first game in convincing fashion… you gotta score more than once. You just gotta.

Special teams tell the tale. The only thing worse than the kings PK is their PP. Just pathetic.

I hope Hiller isn’t lying when he said they gotta wash rinse repeat, on the game. That will produce the same result.

  21. I disagree, they don’t decide at the end of the game who played better defense, it’s who has more goals . This is not the tough to play against heavy cup winning kings , this is high offense roster being used all wrong.

  22. We simply don’t have the horses to compete against the big boys, Laferriere is Iaffalo 2.0, lots of heart but zero scoring talent,unfortunately..Lewis and Lizotte, just taking up space. If Dubois and Blake is still here next year ,we’re in trouble..

  23. Skinner the week link lol this is where other teams in the league haven't got a clue. Skinner is easily one of the best in the west. And last night was not a fluke Oilers have played this way more than once this season.

  24. The defense was on top of it most of the night, but so many of the shot attempts were from poor angles and were deflected. The Oilers were great at gumming up the slot. The Kings have certainly been out hitting the Oilers, but the idea of hitting being the deciding factor is about 10 years behind the current NHL. (Not saying it’s nothing, but not the X factor anymore) Regardless of the penalty calls, our PP has been 0%, PK like 47%. The “experience signings” from this past summer are not really helping. And ummm, a certain trade that already wasn’t great has gone from shaky to very poor in quality. Simply, the Oilers are just the better team…

That being said, while I wholly agree Clarke, Fagemo, Turcotte and Thomas should be with the Kings right now, if they can win a Calder, it makes it even more undeniable that they MUST be on the Kings next season. (Looking at you Rob👀)

  25. Comment section full of oilers fans whining about winning. Typical Edmonton online presence.

  26. Bro how are we blaming the refs when the kings PK is like 50%. Buddy talks about the refs for like 5 straight mins what you think the kings won’t take a penalty all game 😂

  27. Oilers shut the kings down. Kings had 1 shot in the last 11 minutes of the third and 0 shots in the last 6mins.

  28. This guy cant even pronounce his own players names. Not worth listening to unless you like listening to babies cry.

  29. Oilers dominating in every category this series – it aint even close. Kings stole game 2 which was nice, but this series is over. If the oilers can maintain the same defensive game they've applied to games 3 and 4 they've got a chance to go beyond the next round and skinner will have to continue playing error free. Kings top players have woefully under-performed this series and PP and PK has been a farce. Looking forward to new coach and GM for next season – GKG!!

  30. And the Oilers penalty was a legit penalty too? Bottom line is Oilers ST is excellent and Kings ST is hot garbage right now. They both had a PP opportunity and the Oil prevailed.

  31. OK Eddie, We need to come to the realization that we are not as good as the Oilers. We have some good, but not great players. We lack the killer instinct, and have a confidence issue. It feels like the Kings know they cant keep up with the Oilers. Moore, Fiala, Kempe, Dubois, Byfield are all players who look like they are overmatched. The defense is good against bad teams, but the system doesnt work against world class players. The good news is, we will have a new GM, a new goalie, a new Coach, possibly a new President, and Captain. Blake bringing in Dubois left us with a cheap goalie that has never accomplished what the guy who he traded away last year. If we had Vilardi, we would have money to address that. We spent all that money only to get bounced is less games than last year. Its time for drastic changes. Its sad, because of all the series going on right now, only the Kings, and Capitals seem like its over right at puck drop. We just arent good enough. The scoring by comitee thing doesnt work when it comes to the Playoffs.

  32. You saying Skinner didn’t have an amazing game undermines your point that the Kings “dominated the game” and “deserved to win”. The Oilers actually out chanced the Kings, you’re just upset that the kings best effort still can’t beat Edmonton.

  33. The Kings system works against the Sharks, or Ducks, but not against the Oilers, or Stars. If we drew Dallas we wouldve been done as well.
