It’ll go to Hughes but honestly it could go to Makar. 77 GP, 90 points. Hughes 92 points over the entire 82 GP. But I will say Hughes has been a lot better than Makar as a defensive defenceman this year.

Ask Vancouver who they’d rather have and you’ll know who the best d man in the league is

Hughes wins it this year, particularly because of the jump Vancouver made in the standings. Cale is still my guy, but his D wasn’t quite as solid as he has been in the past.

Too bad he had such a shit year

I don’t expect him to win it. But it just goes to show how good makar is when he has an « off » year and is still nominated.

Gonna be Hughes but it would be kind of funny if they give it to Josi to make up for when Makar beat him out couple years ago

It’ll go to Hughes – he elevated his stats a ton, Vancouver had a great season, and the NHL wants the Makar v Hughes narrative for marketing.

It’s kinda crazy to think if Makar played the same amount of games as Hughes did he’d be close to 100pts this season. And I doubt anyone could rip that award away from Makar. Had a higher PPG but I do think Hughes wins it… but they can’t handing it to Makar….cause if healthy Makar wins it every year, no one is better than that non human.
