  1. Haven’t seen this shared yet, found it interesting – Boudreau seems to believe it’s all confidence related

But everyone told me he’s playing great!

honestly sounding like Petey is gonna need to be one of the most coddled stars ever

1 goal last 18 games. Do better Petey. No excuses. Why didn’t you sit out at the end of the season if you were injured? You’re disappointing the team and fans.

The only people saying Petey’s problems are injury related are Canucks fans. You’d think if he was injured, news would get out. We heard about Lindholm playing injured before they started sitting him. I have been saying that for months, he has confidence issues, and he’s also a stick figure. Constantly getting shoved to the ice. The ticky tack penalties he can draw being skinny in the regular season don’t get called in the playoffs. He has needed to bulk up since he was drafted and hasn’t. Now he’s seeing why it’s so important.

I feel its confidence. Ive been to two of the games thus far and watched him during warmups. Near the end of each warmup, he does one timers on the half boards from hughes and JT and he’s absolutely ripping it.

Ehhh..literally every Pettersson downturn so far has come from an injury, often not reported until a while has passed, so I think it’s fair to think it’s an injury this time as well

Bruce said it right here that Petey needs encouragement lmfao and half this sub doesn’t want to to cheer him on. At least Bruce knows him

Petey has the talent to be in the 2nd tier of the best Centres in the league. Below McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews and Drai. He will never be there if he has extended periods like this however. This is the third time in his career he has completely lost confidence and effectiveness for a period of several months. He’s 25 now. Not 21. To live up to his immense potential this has to be the last time in his career this happens. Every player, even the best, have momentary blips of bad play but this has to be minimized from now on.

Hopefully it’s not anything too serious off the ice that is affecting him. If the guy can kick this, stay consistent the rest of his career and he stays with the Canucks he will probably the Canucks all time leading scorer. Would love to see that.

If you see the bench OT celebration from game 4, you’ll see all players clear the bench, Petey waited to walk out the bench door (couldn’t go over boards) clear as day he’s hurting and it’s screwing with his game

I don’t know what the second guy’s name is, but his take is so poor. « The Canucks have never been in [a Game 6 scenario] before, at least this core of guys, » completely ignoring that this same core of Canucks took down the reigning Stanley Cup Champs in 2020 in 6 games and Vegas to 7 (albeit with Markstrom/Demko)e. While you can argue that the Bubble is a different kind of environment, regardless they’ve been in elimination game scenarios before.

  11. He’s just not that good. Really the simplest answer. He’s had many long slumps before. If you watch the games he’s basically lazy. He had a few high point games early in the season thats it but it sure seems like he was just hungry when there was an empty net.

  12. yeetmemommmy

We must sacrifice more animals. And if it doesn’t work… we start with the fans.

  13. rstraker

He’s been injured since midseason? You don’t think they woulda rested him to recover?
