They look clueless on the PP…..Lou has to hire a pp coach next year… someone like Adam Oates… it's pathetic!!!
Varly is rolling. Yeah it was one of those games where they should just decline the power play. Lol. Nobody to drop the gloves unless Martin can go sat
Should’ve be called the Powerless Play. But hey 2 pts. Also WOW I’ve been waiting for reality to come back but Casey is looking great on the first line. Casey is the true meaning of a team player and a hockey player. Does what ever he’s told and does it well. If there anyone who should wear the C on this team
Team has to figure out the pp and the PK if they want to make any noise in the playoffs.
The boys have balls
GOAT is JGP , respect he stepped right up and fought, he’s not a fighter, you can see at times we’re missing ROSS the BOSS, Let’s go Varlamov don’t complain about his contract, I’d like to see a couple of players step up a little bit, can not ignore that our PK, And PP, that’s going to be our biggest downfall in the playoffs, thank you Gil, spot on as always !!!
Good morning gil, a little sloppy last night but a win is a win and more special in overtime and at the game last night..enjoy the weekend 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉let’s go islanders 🎉
Worst Penalty kill in the league horrendous Powerless Play! This team lacks offensive and defensive talent! You must bring in legitimate talent via Ufa! Kane and Duclair! Lee must Go! Free up that 7 million! Unpopular but you must trade Sorokin at the draft before his NTC and 8 million kick in. You need that 15 mill( Lee and Sorokin) to make this team a legitimate contender! Making it in because you get lucky because other teams hit with injuries or coaching, or lack of talent will not last forever!
Not going to matter when Rempe paralyzes your entire roster. 😂 Gil is the epitome of an isles fan, an absolute muppet.
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Please call me Cindy. What a win against Montreal, in OT no less. I hope it wasn't an expensive win. They held The Canadiens to only 14 shots for the entire game, that hasn't happened in a long ⌚ . Cizekis has worked out well on the top line. The rest of the defense stepped 👆. The PP went 0-4 THEY STAYED OUT OF THE JOINT, except except for Pageot, who went Rip Wheeler on somebody. Hero COMMUNITY EFFORT, ESPECIALLY KYLE PALMIERI, WHO WON IT OT. 🐐, THE PP. They've got The Rangers at The Garden tomorrow, THEY NEED TO BE PREPARED PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY. Sorokin was wiped out. Patrick Roy's smart by staying with the 🔥 🖐. After that, The Islanders are in Jersey, and I hope they win this not just to stay in playoff race, but in memory of Mike Bossy. His death, like Jethro's death before him, hit everybody hard, especially Trots. Do you remember John Sterling? He's been a broadcaster for the Yankees for 35 years, but in the early years of The Islanders, he broadcasted for them, and when they scored, he'd yell ISLANDERS GOAL, ISLANDERS GOAL. Picture him doing him just that, especially when they won their first Stanley Cup. The Islanders need to STAY OUT OF THE JOINT, AND THEY KNOW IT. HAPPY 🎂 MARIUS. Hear from you on Monday, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS. Hu
Didn't play our best, and still won. Thats a good sign, lets keep the train rolling, get some revenge on the Canes hopefully.
LGI!!!
Although it was a way tougher game than what it should have been, it was very entertaining nail biter of a game. Depending on the extent of Dobson injury 2 will have to be even better with the puck than he has been, hes my favorite D man on this team but he did have at least one terrible turn over in his own end. 6 will also have to step up. Last thing, how about our ice capade queen being aggressive, scoring a goal and having many other chances to score. I think its fairly safe to say one more win will get us at least a wild card. Lets go Isles
Magic number is 3 on WAS and DET. The best WAS and DET can do is get to 91. If the Isles get 3 points, they are at 92. But any combination of 3 points between Islander wins and WAS / DET losses gets them in. The best the Flyers can do is 89 points. So the Isles' magic number on them is 1. There are actually scenarios whereby they can clinch Saturday. If the Isles get a win and WAS and DET both lose in any fashion OR If the Isles get a point and WAS and DET both lose in regulation they are in.
It’s a ploy…they decided to not allow Dobson to play on Saturday and face whatever Rags had in store ..so this is a good way..we preserve our best defense man and he’ll be playing vs NJ!
Gm Gil. Where was this team for most of the season? Gritty. composed. resilient. Montreal played very well. I was impressed by their closing speed. The Isles have an advantage heading into the playoffs should they run the table given that every game to the end matters against quality teams in the Rangers, Redwings, and Pens. I am expecting the Sat morning game to be a war…The Isles will only miss Dobson's offense as he's a klutz in his own end.
Crazy night of underdog Hockey last night. Islanders squeak out an OT win, the Pens do the same against the Wings, Caps get spanked by the Sabres, Flyers embarrass the Rags, Sens beat Tampa and the Devils beat the Leafs. What the hell is going on?
Just need 3 points
“Miss Dobber?” Roy replies “Yeah you see the power play?” 30 blocks against Rangers 15 against Montreal…in first period…the onlt time they entered the zone was the first goal. Hickey said on post game…goalie is now taught to cover the top of the net with your head. Habs goalie didn’t and that’s where Palms put it. What a shot. Would rather shoot for the attic because the huge goalies take the low area away. Don’t like Aho on D. Pinched twice that I saw not at the top of the zone, but in the slot. If he misses, it’s a 3 on 2. Rather see Bortuzzo. I think they said going 1-1-1 would put them in the playoffs.
I not getting sucked in by this team
They won?…IN OT??!!?
Yet another great win, keeping Montreal to minimum of shots getting a well deserved victory in OT, but we need to fix our PP and PKs.
It seems like the stars aligned for us, with us winning and our direct competitors losing points. Didn't look like it a month ago, but credit to the team and to Roy. Considering our PPs were also bad last season(while PK was pretty solid) we need some changes in staff, I feel.
Great win that puts them in a good position to make the playoffs. Hope Dobber is OK.
Oh "Goodie" now we get to hear those loser Islanders fans rejoice because this pathetic, loser, one-and-done team backed into the playoffs. Yes Hockey World, get ready to hear about the Islanders' Dynasty from 40 years ago. Trust me, these loser Islanders fans will mention it at least once at some point like the hapless, pathetic, losers Islanders fans really are. Most Islanders fans are Mets' fans too, so that should show you the pattern of being born losers for life. They're probably N.Y. Giants fans as well, hahahahahaha.
Mariousz Czkerkawski!
Happy birthday MC!
I would've been so embarrassed if I got the bday of the day wrong! LoL.
