With Matthews out, they started playing their positions properly. When he is in the lineup they all seem to focus on getting him the puck and the defensive team knows that. If Matthews was in game 5 McCabe wouldn’t have shot from distance. Now they are a bit more random and focused on helping each other rather than feeding him the puck. They also get caught up in doing stupid things like trying to get Willy the hat trick in game 6 at the end. They dumped the puck back for him when he was getting off and Boston went after it. The win should be the only focus. Woll missed his shutout because they got excited and stopped playing when the game only had 30 seconds left.
