This is my way too early prediction for the roster:
1. scoring will be a high priority for the kings that could not consistently do it in the playoffs so with the tight cap space Roy isn't signed, especially with Clarke and Spence both cheaper. Arvidsson stays but only under 3k annually due to injury concerns. Ideally Tofoli reunion would be preferred over arvidsson.
2. Goaltending is arguably just as high as obtaining a goal scorer. After byfield is signed i think they package their first round pick and maybe a prospect like akil thomas for bruins ulmark or someone of his caliber. Although i would personally like the kings to take the risk and call uto Portillo who based off how hes performed this year in Ontario could very well be a quality starter for years to come and might be ready for the nhl.
I just wished we didn't use the 1-3-1 on the PP…

Kopi pretty much admitted he's done after his contract is up so why not let PLD take over the top line center ( probably what he was brough there for anyway for when Kopi retires ). Let him get comfortable with skilled players instead of the cluster f of revolving bottom 6 forwards. I don't look at it like that anyway really since the Kings usually roll all 4 lines. Let Matt Roy walk and bring up Clarke full time. There had been talks about going after Saros in Nashville to be the #1 goalie, but Byfield is about to get paid and Spence is going to get a raise. Let the flaming begin lol.
Mike Richards buyout is on the books until 2032
Provorov has one more year of cap left and Richards till 28-29… Kaliev is as good as gone as well as one of Spence or Roy (but would prefer Gavrikov and PLD gone)…chances are it's Roy… Grunts might have screwed himself for the big contract this time via the injury…but wait till next season to attempt arbitration…
I know that I want Skeeter back…but he might be a minor headache via arbitration as well… He's that Theo Fleury type we're missing if we do get rid of him…

PLD buy out is necessary and you don't get this chance again. This year the buyout is 1/3 after this year it is 2/3rds . The buyout is long but better than 8.5M a year

Sorry Eddie, it is 100% on pld…nothing was stopping him from giving 100% every night. If he was giving 100% every night and just wasn’t getting results I would agree that he needed better line mates. Instead he just showed. Board battles and playing with energy and grit don’t depend on who your line mates are
Special teams was the difference but blaming officiating kinda seems silly. How many more calls did LA need? It’s not the refs fault LA went 0% on pp and Edmonton ripped the kings pk apart.
1ST PRIORITY IMO: get puck moving D's aka 2024 D's: just look at the Elite teams and their D's, Stars, AVS ect
PLD’s atrocious body and facial language on camera was awful He was biting his fingers. He was fidgeting with his mustache and beard. He looked unduly scared, uncomfortable, shy, and especially timid. His presentation was so bad barely anyone would think he was a pro hockey player. Besides that, he wasn’t convincing and candid that next season he could achieve anything even close to what Blake expected. Telling everyone he was going to the gym to get stronger was a dead bang stupid remark, because he was suppose to be in top masculine shape automatically anyway. Even if he went to the gym and worked out, how foolish is it that he thinks that creates more production? How does gym work cause him to stop being a marshmallow on the ice, and be dominant over the nhl best players? Worse of all, he didn’t explicitly say he really wants to stay in LA. Liking LA isn’t the same as desiring to play for LA. I call cow manure on his whole interview. I now know even better why nobody bought PLD Kings jerseys, and nobody isn’t going to buy any after this sad sack interview.
Dude do people think this is football?? You can’t buy a guy like PLD out the dead cap is too high for too long. Not worth it. He’ll be better next season and if he’s not then unload him and a pick to a team that needs to hit the cap floor. Kings already have 3mil in dead cap space can’t afford any more.

Let’s be honest, Drew and Kopitar didn’t have a stellar series. I don’t like the idea that Drew and Kopitar are steadfast on NO rebuild or retool. I don’t think we should be making decisions about the Kings future anymore on their desires to win now. Their times may have come and gone. I think we are MUCH farther away from winning a cup than Kopitar and Drew want to think. I am open for a rebuild and total investment with our youth and trading for draft picks AGAIN ! one exception, this time, let many of the prospects play in NHL to get their experience vs. marinating in the AHL until players are 25+. I’d be willing to lose for a few seasons watching young players than watching aged vets get to playoffs, only to lose in round 1 every year. The 1-3-1 has to go !!!!!!

Unfortunately, a buyout is a total loser for the team, and I am in no way taking the blame off PLD, But I don't know that the coaching staff gave him everything to be successful. He was supposed to come in and be the #2 center behind Kopi, with Danault dropping to #3 and playing the original position he was signed for. That never seemed to happen with PL playing 3rd and 4th line shifts. Normally a signing of this nature would be putting PL with the top wingers on the team, not 3rd or 4th line talent. My hope is he lights a fire under his own behind and the team puts better talent on his wing in the #2 position, if that doesn't work so be it and move on, He was brought in to make the difference against the Oilers, but I don't think he was even given a chance to be a factor. Blake should be on the HOT seat for not recognizing something this simple and sitting McLellan and Hiller down with PL if need be, that is his job as GM.

As bad as this may sound, if Blake is not terminated by AEG, then I hope the Kings miss the playoffs altogether next season. May be the only way to get rid of Blake. If the Kings substantially looking worse in the playoffs three consecutive seasons can't get your GM terminated, I tend to believe AEG doesn't really care about trying to build a team that can win it all but more so they are just happy it can just make the playoffs.
Remember, the Kings pushed the Oilers to 7 games two seasons ago with much of their regular D-corps out injured that season and without Fiala and PLD as well. Most of Blake's moves have actually made the team worse over time. This on top of BOTH Special Team's units (PP & PK) going MIA in the playoffs. Any competent company and both Luc and Blake are gone.
