How can you blow it up when the core four have no move clauses? Tavares buyout will cost a ton vs the cap. Marner in the driver seat with his contract. If he wants to stay he won't agree to a trade and can insist on a no trade on any contract renewal. Or he walks and the Leafs get nothing but cap relief.

The flat cap crushed the Leafs. Took away any hope this core would get any true help when the Leafs took the risk of signing those contracts. This year is a bit different I guess, but not really.
