  1. I agree with Elliot, the Leafsin their usual insanity , will not do as much as one thinks or wants. Most likely a change at coach and bench staff, they will sign Marner to extension , make a couple of trades, they are soft on Samsonov and may not trade him. Other than that I for one would be shocked if they do anything out of the norm.

  2. I love this discussion about Marner (who has proven to be a por playoff player, wired or not) wanting 12 million times 8, this is INSANE. In the playoff which is another level, brutal and stressful, making little Marner inactive would be easy.

  3. As a die hard Sens fan, I like Marner but c'mon LOL. 12 milli for a guy that has done nothing in the playoffs. AND he's a winger. No thanks. There's a small market for him

  4. I think the main problem with the four top guys is so much of the team's cap space is invested in those four players who have essentially the same offensive skill set. This will sound like a shot from a Bruins fan living in the GTA but Tavares might be the grittiest of the four. But what does that say about the other three? The Bruins' goaltending is the backbone of their club. We B's fans knew that entering the season with all the UFAs, retirements of Bergie and Krejci and bargain bin FA signings. Are Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander the backbone of the Leafs? Yes or no. And if it's not them, who or what is? If it's not these four elite players, as good a quartet of forwards as you can find in the league, then there's a fundamental flaw in the assessment, construction and balance of their roster and salary cap distribution set up and approved by the management group.

  5. The notion of a corporate bureaucrat like Keith Pelley being “involved” in hockey operations is the last straw for me. That’s doomsday for the Leafs.

  6. I love the Leafs and will be back for more punishment and disappointment in October but out of respect for two legit Canadian teams still in the playoffs Toronto Maple Leaf off season moves coverage doesn’t deserve air time until the playoffs are over, no wonder everyone hates us.

  7. I think Marner was right. The Leafs ARE treated like Gods in this city. I also think that attitude should change. Holding them accountable for poor showings is part of the game, & we shouldn't, as fans, be treating them with such reverence, especially when the results of the team's on ice results don't necessarily deserve said reverence. Something needs to change in the locker room, whether its a coach, a trade, whatever, to convince these guys that maximum effort needs to br given every night, no matter what. Kyper is right, not everyone can thrive under the microscope of Toronto's sports media. The players need to decide in my opinion whether or not they can handle it. If not, they should move on.

  8. No, he shouldn’t be a God. It’s a god damned sport. He’s an athlete. My goodness. What a tone deaf statement after losing a game 7.

  9. I don't think anybody gives a flying motherfuck about what the OWNERSHIP thinks about the hockey team. The ownership is the main reason for every ounce of bullshit since the early 2000s.

  10. They only thing close to the homer attutude of HNIC for the Maple Laughs, is NESN towards the Bruins. The big difference is NESN is a regional broadcast. HNIC is a National broadcast. They try to push the Maple Laughs as Canada's team as hard as Ontario pushes Trudeau as Prime Minister. The rest of Canada thinks Toronto is a cesspool. 🤣 Go Panthers!!

  11. Nsh Preds have a rookie goalie they like Askarov I think his name is I would try to see if Marner waives his NTC to go to Nsh for Saros.

Saros & a dman as it would look great as a leaf it would shore up the #1 goalie than you keep Woll as his backup.
