  1. Player careers are short and windows for them winning are even shorter; you don't have time to experiment with an unproven coach.
If your plan is to win then find a coach who has had a previous track record of winning.
If you're going with Arniel, then you had better be sure.
Otherwise, you're essentially coming across like the Oilers from years ago, who placed former players in positions of responsibility… Those teams went nowhere.

  2. I'm actually not totally agreeing with Mike on his thoughts regarding the next coach of the Jets… Arnie will be given an interview for sure but it will depend on what his vision is for this team… I don't think it's a given at all. If we are looking around for a coach, none with more pedigree than Cooper in Tampa… not sure if he'd be looking for a new gig but he would have immediate respect because he's seen it all and been through it all as a coach. (One can dream, anyway). 2nd choice would be Gallant and 3rd Woodcroft.

  3. Scott Arniel stayed as assistant head coach because Chevy promised him Bones’ job.

  4. Our PK sucked and Arniel ran it. Honestly. Not selling tickets with Arniel. Familiarity is the problem here.

  5. How much was Arniel limited in decisions by Bones? I'm nervous about selling familiarity, when what they have done in consecutive playoff seasons is not close to success. There is a better room and Captain, but they need better strategy and adjustments. Not sure Arniels' performance with the PK supports giving him a bigger role.

  6. Arniel is not the answer. He does not have winning record. I dont care if he has a history with Jets. He wasnt great on special teams. He was also in charge of tbe Jets losing games when Bones was away tbe 2nd time

  7. Doubt it. Jets lost 6 in a row (which ultimately cost them the division title and yes, even the Presidents trophy) during his time behind the bench when Bones had to take a short leave a month ago.
