  1. Ovies you got me at the start of the show!! I thought you were opening with the line from Glengarry Glen Ross!!

  2. I think the NC State "post route" WR you're referring to is Dovonte Edwards. He played both WR & DB at NCSU and a couple seasons on the basketball team.

  3. Svechnikov adds alot more to the game than just scoring. Yes we all want him to finish his chances BUT he creates space for his linemates. When he has the puck players follow and tend to double team him. At the same time I don't think that's enough to make up for all the childish and dumb penalties.

  4. For all the people going "Svech will grow out of it" what's this year 6 I think? It's who he is. The dumb penalties aren't gonna stop.

  5. I 5000% agree with you about Svechnikov. I have been off of the Svech train for years, and these playoffs are only affirming my judgment. He's just not an $8 mil/yr player. He has never scored more than 23 non-empty net goals in a season (30 goal season was 7 ENGs). He is NOT a finisher (nowhere even close to being one), and he hasn't improved much at all since his first season. In his best season, he played 78 games and scored in only 21 of those games (ENGs excluded, so 21 games where at least one non-ENG was scored). Aho is a SIGNIFICANTLY better scorer and finisher, him and Svech are honestly miles apart when you factor in % of ENGs and consistency (i.e., how spread out were those goal totals?), and yet so many fans act like he's our best scorer, or like he's up there with Aho when it comes to the offensive game (and many people even think he is offensively BETTER than Aho LOL).

People have been love drunk on his potential, not his actual. In actuality, he has not ever been a very special player, and certainly not one worth $8 mil/yr and being the second highest paid player on the team.

Last year everybody acted like losing Svech made a considerable difference in the playoffs, like his presence could have potentially changed that series against the FL Panthers. He has been on the top line and on PP1 for these whole playoffs and he has ONE SINGLE GOAL, one single goal that came off AN ACCIDENTAL DEFLECTION OFF AN ISLANDERS PLAYER'S STICK. It was a shot that wasn't even on net, but it happened to deflect off an Islanders player's stick on the way. It was literally the luckiest goal of our entire playoffs so far, even luckier than Slavin's the other day because Svechnikov's shot wasn't even on net.

Svech is NOT the guy. Hell, it's no wonder we've never made it past the halfway point in the playoffs (never have won more than 8 playoff games), how the hell could you when Svech is supposed to be the best or second best player on the team offense-wise?

  6. What a riot. Trochek is killing you guys who let him go. Think he like Raleigh better than the Garden? Dont think so. Hold on to your slim chances. You gotta win 4 of 5 to win the series without home ice. Good luck with that. And BTW, the Rangers outlasted the Canes. Deal with it

  7. Refs might want to have a look at the diving from NYR players. The strange soft calls are giving them the upper hand, since they have the best PP. Canes has to be better on PK and PP though.

  8. I'm about 15 mins in, and I just gotta say, what's with all of the corny digs at the Rangers? You claim that, "Look! There CAN be rational Rangers fans!" but then say things like this

    1. Trocheck overpay? Last year was his second best year at the time. This year was a career year.. almost 80 points and a faceoff MONSTER
    2. Stop thinking it's just you being special and that's why he's playing great. It's his 5th straight game with a goal. We've only played you 2x. Maybe it's the playoffs and he's upping his career year game?
    3. What a strange dig at Igor. You really make it sound like there's an entire tier of goalies above him. I'm sorry, he's one of the best in the league, has been for years, and he's another reason the Rangers are up 2-0, not just the powerplay

Oh, and lastly, you guys have gotten your joke powerplays also. You just didn't execute on the powerplay so you don't think that the call matters.

"Fox is on the wrong side of the stick when Kuz crosschecked him in the face. What a flopper"

  9. If ima Canes fan.. I am not thrilled about Staal leaning into the Rangers diving. Undisciplined play and no special teams is the issue as far as I can see. Youve got to be accountable to get it fixed. Now I agree, Igor didn’t need to execute the front flip and Fox went down like he was KO’d by Mike Tyson, BUT there was contact on Igor and Guenzel Has got to skate away from there in that spot and he knows it! Both teams have moments where they can point to bad calls for sure but if you want to come back in this thing you know the areas you have to get sorted and quick. Quit whining and get it done.

  10. Just from a Rangers perspective because we see it all year. The stick always seems to find Foxys face because teams need to play him hard. It’s literally why Lindgren doesn’t leave the top pairing no matter how he’s playing to watch his back. He’s not a big defenseman and if you let him get comfortable he can literally destroy defences by himself! So you play him rough and take the calls that come seems to be the move that works sometimes…Ha he did get Guenzel huge with the retaliation though. Gotta keep your cool there buddy. You’re not in Pittsburgh anymore!
