1. You earned an Avs subscriber today, this series is far from over, with probably the two best teams in the league. It is an honor to play a badass team and I wouldn't have it any other way! #GOAVSGO

  2. Do we still have Joel Hanley?? This playing 5 D is not going to fly against Colorado. Miro is gassed already

  3. The one thing we didn’t wanna do is get into a track meet and yet we still did? When you know what the other team is gonna do and you still can’t stop it. How do we bounce back?

  4. Miro should never be in the same sentence as Makar. Miro got beat by a nobody and that nobody scored the game winner oh and Oettinger is straight up ass

  5. Man, If only they knew Jani had a string of injuries and they weren’t going to play Nils in the playoffs a second year in a row. Then they could’ve got another defenseman.

  6. Felt like they pulled off the gas in the 2nd period, I know they are tired but man just can’t do that against the Avs, this sort of game is what Colorado has done all season. 5 defensemen just won’t cut it against them either, need Jani back or they need to call up Bichsel, he might not be playoff “ready” yet but Nils only being trusted enough to soak up like 5 minutes isn’t it.

  7. That woods goal in overtime was against the Star’s best defenseman. Miro had a stride and a half on Wood and Miles beat him to Oettinger.

  8. Roope Hintz
    Joe Pavelski
    Thomas Harley
    Matt Duchene
    Tyler Sequin

We are only going as far as your offensive production takes us and so far all signs point to "out in the second round."

For the love of God, put the puck in the freakin net.

  9. As an Avs fan, I wasn’t overly stressed after the first period being down 3-0. And not because I thought it was a given that they would come back but because the primary goal for the Avs being the road dog in this series was to at least split the first two games and even had they lost, they had one more crack at it tomorrow. Actually didn’t expect that end result just as my neighbors didn’t expect to get woken up to someone screaming at 11pm 😂

Series is FAR from over but I do like how the Avs snatched home ice back.

  10. Avs fan here but Dallas cannot keep playing 5 dmen vs this Avs team-fastest in the NHL. Especially when we get to Ball arena,& altitude-where I work. Game 1 went similar how I thought. Avs would be rusty earlyr-but Stars would tire as the game went on.I expected to be behind after the 1st. But a couple undisciplined penalties,& down 3-0…that was worse than I expected-though we didnt play that poorly-except dumb penalties.

I cant say I was totally confident down 3-0 but I knew it wasnt over. Avs led the regular season in scoring, comebacks,& multi goal comebacks. Nobody knows better than Dallas. BOTH regular season games in Dallas-Stars had 3 goal leads in 2nd or 3rd-& Avs won both-just like last night.Even the last game in Denver-I think we were down 5-1…got it to 5-4,& almost tied it…lost 7-4 with empty netter. That Manson save was huge.Down 4-0,& giving up 4th with 6 seconds left probably wouldve been too much to ask.

I expect Dallas will probably win game 2,& this will be a hard fought 6 or 7 game series. And even if we go up 2-0-we know it isnt over.Dallas is very resilient,& while they dont have the ultra superstars the Avs do-& our forward depth is better than many think-Stars probably have the deepest forwards in the NHL. And while weve owned Ottenger-I know he can turn into game 7 in Calgary Jake(2022 playoffs)-at any time. And while Giorgiev has made huge strides,& has seemed to rebuild his confidence-not impossible he could start to struggle again.

But maybe the most important part of last night was GIORGIEV SAVING OUR ASS IN OT! Stars were the better team by far in OT. Even though Dallas had chances in regulation-Hintz missing the net with a minute left-on balance Id say Dallas was lucky to get to OT. Avs hit 3 or 4 posts,& not sure what Nichuskin is doing-passing on 1 on 0 mini break to a trailing,& covered Mckinnon. Thought that might end up costing us the game. But we were definitely lucky to survive the 1st half of OT-Giorgiev was huge.

But Dallas CANNOT keep playing 5 dmen vs the fastest team in the NHL-especially at altitude. Miles Wood is insanely fast but usually has no finish. But he smoked Heskinen on that play…Heskinen got worked over the last half of the game. And I think it dirrectly goes back to playing a hard 7 game series vs the defending champs & most physical & imposing West playoff team-Vegas. Only getting 1 day off-while we had a week off. And there are no double days off-this series is every other day. Because of your forward depth-I expect Dallas will be OK there as far as tiring out at altitude. Able to manage that better than most visitors. We are best in the NHL at home (33-9-1 counting 1st round)-but you had best road record.

But your blueline will not survive-especially at altitude-if Deboer keeps playing 5 dudes-especially vs this Avs team. Either you gotta get Hakinpaugh (sp?) back-or you have to find somebody to trust more than 3 or 4 minutes. You just cant ask Heskinen to play half the game, produce offensively,& keep in check our superstars. He will get wheeled off in a wheel chair,& on an oxygen tank by game 4. Avs coaching staff is great at finding the matchups best to exploit at home. But great analysis by you,I expect a long, tough series,& I think the winner of this series wins the West,& probably the Cup. But great to get the split WORST CASE

  11. As an Avalanche fan i've never been this relaxed during a playoff series.
Of course I want my Avs to win, but you guys knocked out Vegas and I'm so thankful for that that I would be ok with it if you win the series, as long as you then go on to win the cup.

  12. i was furious beoynd belief after the game and rightfully things gotta be called for what they are, third time this year that we blow a lead at home againts them, including one 3-0 lead in third one 3-1 lead and what happened last night, we also gave 2 pp goal out of only 2 pp oppertunity for the avalanche, terrible breakaway given in ot after we wer edominaitng in overtime, were one of the best team when leading after 2, and we blew our lead in the third, and all of this on home ice, uncaccetpable from our group and until someone passes the message along dont expect us 2 be champions

  13. also like u said, the whole pav, seguin, hintz, and all our other best have 0gals or almost 0 goals is unaccdeptable glad that peter debor called them out on it after that game 1, if uve catched it

  14. I like how this is all about the stars losing the game. No, the avalanche beat them. The avalanche was a bit rusty in the first period. Much as Winnipeg learned, this is a team that can put the pedal to the metal in about two seconds. The stars are in trouble.

  15. I’m an Avs fan. I’m actually shocked the Stars allowed that comeback even though the Avs are notorious for never giving up and comebacks. Woods’ dangle on the game winner was insane.

  16. What's going on with Hintz. He and Pavelski are the worst duo in whole team. Pavs is too slow and Hintz is either injured (again, like every spring) or then he just completely lost his confidence

  17. As an Avs fan I really like your analysis. Unbiased and honest. Thanks so much for this!

  18. Avs could have blown this game open. It seemed to me like every shot went into the goal or rang off the post in the 2nd and 3rd periods…

  19. As fan here. Game went about how i expected. 3-0 lead is never safe …..but especially against the Avs. They play extremely well from behind and can bury you in goals out of nowhere at any time. At no point after any of those first 3 goals did i ever feel worried or anxious. I just did the usual…. Kept my popcorn hot and fresh and topped off….settled in… And just waited patiently. I knew how this was gonna unfold. Right on que.
