With the 2018 Hart — how do you win the Hart when your team doesn’t have a measurable amount of success? That’s why Hall won it. NJ made the playoffs carried on Hall’s back. Like yeah, McDavid was the best player in the league but the definition of the Hart means that he can’t win it since his team had no success at all.
Gosh… Adam, McDavid as great as he is, he is not having a good whole season. He is playing catchup this year compare to previous years. And one more thing, why are we debating on players choice when they are the one who knows their peers the most? A consistent McDavid will hit 160-170 points. Does he hit that this year? no.
And to say McDavid should oust Kucherov….. You put McD in this year TBL team and he won't even sniff 100 points. Guaranteed. People underestimate how AWFUL TBL finishing this year besides in final few months of RS.

As I listen to them talk about how MLSE will likely just roll it back again, I can't help but think about the Vegas Golden Knights. I don't agree with a lot of their cutthroat decisions and treatment of players but you can't deny they want to win cups. They'll make whatever big change or trade they think they need to to win. They've had some mixed results but obviously it got them a cup. So MLSE just wants to make money and have stability? Makes me wish they had a portion of Vegas's drive, not too much you don't want to go extreme, just a portion.

I agree with Adam. McDavid just proved again this season in another different way that there is a real gap between him and the next closest player. He should win the Ted Lindsay every single year because he is the most outstanding. To be hurt and hampered by a terrible system and poorly performing team for the first month and a half and then put on the streak he put on down the stretch is just insane. I’m find giving the Hart to Kucherov or MacKinnon this year because you could argue they were more important to their teams. But McDavid is the easy best player in this sport and he keeps doing it in different and better ways each year.
The Matthews vs kucherov debate was so full of Toronto hometown favorites it's dumb. Adam made the point that mcdavid caught up. Hey how about kucherov got the lead.

Yeah, 100% disagree with Jesse on this one.
When people look back at this season in 30 years they won't see anything except for Matthews 69 goals and Kucherov's 100 assists. Mackinnon and McDavid won't even get a glance because players have 'good seasons' every single year, they're not memorable, milestones are what get remembered.
I'm not saying that's fair, but that's simply the way these things work in sports.
