I would like to, once again, respectfully, ask that we do not fucking hire him

  2. He’s at least had consistent regular season success, which you can’t say about our last 2 hires lol

Permission? How does that work. Do you still need Toronto to say ok even though they fired him?

Would be a fine hire. Way too dismissive over some of these coaches

My #1 option if Sully isnt avaialble.

Has the singlebest system of any coach available. his teams constantly are in the top 10 of 5 on 5 analytics. His PPs and PKs are always top half the league and he is beloved by his players. The Leafs have been bottom 10 in high danger chances allowed for 4 straight years with him, all with a pretty terrible D core by name. They dont allow many chances, dominate play 5 on 5 and have good special teams 90% of the time.

Sure his playoff success hasnt been great, but there is a clear step forward for TOR in the playoffs these last 2 years of being harder to play against and I dont think the teams inability to score dirty goals falls on the coach, moreso the roster construction.

Unlike Berube whose system has garned STL in the bottom 10 of 5 on 5 play for every full year he has been there and 3 years of bottom 5. STL allowed the same aamount of High Danger chances as SJS, CHI in the last 2 years, thats horrific.

Im not quite sure why or how Berube has gotten this title of defensive coach when his teams give up more chances then basically the entire NHL and just rely on good goaltending to keeps pucks out of the net

Berube will not be what we need and is a mistake IMO. Hope he proves me wrong if hes hired but he isnt what we need.

I hope we don’t hire him, but let’s be honest, it’d be malpractice for Fitz and the team to not explore all available options. I mean, look at the top NHL teams and many of their head coaches are on their second or third chance at the gig after failing elsewear. Paul Maurice, Peter Laviolette, Rick Tocchet, Bruce Cassidy and Peter Deboer were all fired (sometimes multiple times) and are having success now. Many of the Leafs problems, particularly winning in the playoffs, were not fixed during Keefe’s tenure, but they certainly did not start with him either.

Sounds good to me. I have ZERO idea what makes a coach good and if they will jive with the team. The amount of coaches fired shows that GMs probably don’t either.

We really can’t get over critical for one hire over another. Vancouver fans were disgusted with getting rid of Boudreau unceremoniously for Tocchet. They couldn’t be more wrong with how that turned out.

if he’s fired why do you need permission ?
