  1. I think it's not just that there's FOUR teams in the pattern, but that there are ZERO teams which prove the opposite.

Like you said though, none of us actually in the situation so all we can do is speculate. Hope he and the kings turn out well

  2. He is staying in LA. He has played solid hockey..on an inconsistent basis. The misstep in signing happened. Better to let him make his way as he is a better player than his reputation.

  3. His first year in Winnipeg was a joke, his second season was better and his last season was his best. It was no secret that he wanted out of Winnipeg so his effort increased in his final year knowing that it would improve his chances of getting a big contract. Once he got that absurd contract he returned to his lazy attitude and lackluster play. This will continue because he has never been a team player on the ice or a good teammate in the room unless it's a contract year.
Jets management played their hand perfectly and came away with a great return.
The best the Kings could do for themselves is buy out P L Diva, fire Rob Blake and move on.

  4. Imagine if he had been traded to Montreal. Those fans and that media would have destroyed him after his first 10 games.
It would have been so entertaining too see!!
However, PLD now has the last laugh. He's out of the Winnipeg winters and avoided the demands of playing in Montreal.
He's got a ton of cash, a great suntan, nice cars, a house with a pool and hot girls.
If I had all that why would I put in the effort?

  5. Apparently the buyout period doesn't start until after the last day of the NHL Playoffs. Which is June 25th this year. So if the Finals goes to Game 7, the Kings won't have the one-third buyout option. Tough luck. (Source: SDPN)

  6. imagine someone in the NHL watches this video and is like: "Holy damn, we didnt see this?!" and instantly fires dubois 😀

  7. At some point the NHL has to realize that playing players who are ppg or nearly that 10% of the cap isn't going to work when there are 100ish people getting close to that range. Or better.

  8. Personally, I feel for Dubois. He played on the 3rd and 4th lines all year and had absolutely BRUTAL linemates. He played hard in the playoffs and wasn't bad, just took some bad penalties.

  9. Kyle Connor is another one of "these" players who is a one man wrecking ball. KC finished the year with a -6, while collecting 61 points. That means that for the Jets 199 goals against on the year, he was on the ice for 67 of those goals against. We're talking 33%, and without injury the projected results would be 40%. KC gets about 30% of the playtime, so the average chance that you will score when he is on the ice (compared to if he isn't) is 110%. With Dubois, his dad is a coach so he's likely developed an association with defense and punishment, with KC it seems to be the same thing. They just hate doing it. You're team will not be able to get in sync with one another when you got some guys going at one pace, and others going at another.

  10. It did not make any sense at face value… The trade was doomed from the beginning, he’s always been about unrealized potential. Big over payment for an even bigger underachieving player!

  11. I'm tempted to say that Dubois is the kind of player Edmonton used to take a chance on. But this might be an an insult to Kane and Perry, if these reports mean anything.

  12. Points % isn’t what % of games result in a gained point, it’s what % of available points does your team get.

The way you labelled your graph makes OTL worth the same as any W, but an OTL is a P% of 0.5 because you got 1/2 available points.

  13. For all that "culture" u say Boston has, 1 cup. They were and still are, mostly, a real good regular season team. But where are the cups?
