  1. Another reason why Shanny needs to be fired, not only has he failed to construct a good roster but he’s handcuffed himself. What an utter moron

  2. There are ways to get Marner to agree to a trade… The Leafs could tell Marner to sit a home to avoid the cameras being on him sitting in the press box eating popcorn all season long – if he sits all season long – that can't be good for a new contract – it will cost him. He will fold and agree to a trade.

  3. Not even Joel Quenneville could bring a Stanley Cup to Toronto as long as the Core-4 plus Morgan Rielly are intact.

The “C” should be ripped off Tavares’ jersey and given to Auston. Marner has to be traded or if he refused a trade, let him become a free agent without compensation to save $10.9 M plus $2M expected raise. Tavares must be convinced to be traded with 50% salary retention and don’t resign him as a free agent. Try to move defensive liability Rielly.

Goals: a true No. 1 goalie; two top tier defensemen.

  4. They need to run a public marketing campaign to hear what the public has to say. The slogan can be, “If Good isn’t Good Enough, then what will be Good Enough?” They need to promote this campaign all over the city. TTC, Yonge and Dundas Square, Malls, etc Put the people’s opinion to work and listen to what we the fans suggest.

  5. A key facter that I never hear people talking about is how creating this type of salarary structure and how that creates division in dressing rooms. Teams need there coaches or assistant coach to have a background in sports psychology and not just the hockey side. You cant compile a team where there is that drastic of a salarary diverance amongst the players. Jealousy starts to build up….guys dont like seeing some guys not pulling there own weight. Lack of ice time for some . It creates less opportunity for finding that diamond in the rough. Look at what happened when Matthews was out for 2 games? Look at what you seen with Domi and some potential. It was a horrible strategy to do that. It was ownership I believe because of how much money they could profit out of it. These guys also sell the game regardless if leafs win. People are just dumb to purchase Maple leafs tickets and merch at this stage of the game. Ownership has abused fanbase . Players also are not trustable.Scandel written all over this if you pay attention.

  6. I’m not convinced new voice doesn’t help. 1-23 on PP. that’s coaching, they go 40% they win that series and several series prior as well. So fix PK and PP totally different results.

I can agree they need flexibility with cap, but guess what? It’s no longer a pandemic and the cap IS going up. So the very freedom they thought they would have had as cap grew is literally happening now as these guys hit their prime.

Anyway I know that’s not the popular opinion and can see change happening.
Just not convinced there isn’t a reality where coaching gets them over the hump.

  7. It’s actually really simple. If Tarvares and Marner refuse to be moved you refuse to let them play. A year of no hockey hurts them just like they’re hurting the team by not moving
