I bet you know what the real problem is with the leafs. They have a great offense but what is missing are "warriors" for the series. Look at the great Habs team (not today) they had Lafleur, Shutt , Lemaire on offense, but behgind them look at the roster. They had real "warriors". Ho and they had Dryden also. The Leafs have a great offense but the dg's have put all their eggs in the same basket. Better luck nezt year.

it was keefes decision to healthy scratch Simon Beniot a bunch of games Leafs lost. Even though Benoit has been the Leafs best defenseman all year… Its was keefes decision to play Samsonov 40 Games even though he has 3+ goals against average and only 89 save percentage instead of Jones and Woll. knowing that it was Keefes decision to play samsonov 5 games in the playoffs. It was Keefes decision not to pull a goalie when they allow 4 goals in the 1st period. It was Keefes decision to play Morgan Rielly top pairing minutes as a defenseman, he's a major liability in leafs zone and reminds me of dion phaneuf minus the hits thinks hes bobby orr.
Now what? You will move onto the next scapegoat until you force them out of town, where theyll be immediately successful elsewhere

What a different vibe from the soccer world. If a team with a fanbase the size of the Leafs was as unsuccessful as long as they have been, the manager would have been sacked within the first 2 years, if not sooner. I heard Keefe will be coaching Nebraskas’s team next year when the first season of the Major League Hockey kicks off.
He needed to go, they needed a new voice… I LIKE Keefe, I'd rather be sitting here talking about his multiple Cup runs and how MLSE can afford to pay him 20M a year to coach the team… but that didnt happen. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors…
Keefe's video made me weep. I know it's probably the right move but I've come to love this man. It's immensely hard to blame him when you know he's done so much right — you don't win this many games otherwise. There are a million variables and he is just one. I was devastated to see Dubas go, even more hurt to see we hired Treliving with one of the worst GM resumes/outcomes I've ever seen — when he left the flames, he's dragged them down to rock bottom. Keefe used what he had and tried immensely to help his players succeed — they couldn't do that when it mattered most.
I think many people forget our very recent history — before the Matthews era, where we were lucky to even make the playoffs — under Keefe, it's become an expectation and a given that we take for granted. I truly hope our future, Leafs Nation, is fortuitous and bountiful, and that we don't regress but instead, continue ahead, full throttle, into contention.
I am hopeful for our future while also remembering, it often must get worse before it gets better. Here's to a new era 🥂
We have the same problem in Carolina with Rod Brind A’mour. Only difference is that we can win a series each year, but then the team falls apart after that. Toronto wanting to pay him major dollars to get a series win every year…only going up?
