@Canadiens de Montréal

  1. The question is, if you think about the rule holistically…
Did the contact have no discernable effect on the play whatsoever?

  2. even VAR turned to be helpless to avoid ref misjudgments in soccer. You should play considering the ref's blindness, no complains

  3. This is nothing new in the NHL. Officiating in the playoffs has been trash for as long as I can remember.

  4. Bruins fans citing the rule book as if they haven’t been absolute menaces for the past 15 years.

You reap what you sow guys.

    Still a bad call. 🤷‍♂️

  5. All I hear are the Bruins and the Bruins coach crying about officiating. Do you see the Panthers crying about the bad officiating? Did you see any call on David Pastornak for double hand chopping Barkov's hands an wrist trying to injure him when he scored his goal in tonight's game. No, and did you see Barkov crying about it? Shut up and play it happens to both teams. We just see which team really just puts it to the side and keeps playing. Bruins are one of the dirtiest playing teams that get away with a lot of crap. They have nothing to say then. But when it goes against them all they wanna do is cry.

  6. Carey price was dragged out of his net by a rangers player and it was ruled not goaltender interference.

That was the day i gave up on even pretending to know what GI is.

  7. easy good goal because playoff hockey, that everyone loves so much, everyone just ignoring the rule book is so fun right?

  8. I thought the officiating in the playoffs was out of control across the board BEFORE seeing the new angle and the goaltender interference non-call. After the games tonight, it’s reached gongshow territory.

  9. Question for people saying it was a bad call: How many times have you've seen a goal waived off in a similar situation?

  10. not to be too dramatic, but my bruins whole season could be hinged on that call imo. total BS. not just the goal, but the penalty as a result of the challenge as well, in/directly caused the other goal letting them take the lead. makes me sick

  11. Sabres fan here. The problem is I do not believe the push was strong enough to affect the play. Coyle was already in the crease and moving forward. I openly admit that it definitely does not look good but I don't think Bennett's push was enough to affect what Coyle was doing. The optics are terrible but I don't think this is a missed call. I think it is ridiculous that the wording of the rule got us here and that definitely needs to be addressed but I think this was fine. Coyle got in his goalies way. Sucks but it happens. What can you do?

  12. NHL officiating has hit a record low, they have literally destroyed the flow of playoff hockey. Even the linesmen for important faceoffs are all about me me me me!!

  13. 4:31 Benett pushes him to the RIGHT but somehow instead of Coyle, falling down to the RIGHT quite the opposite happens and Coyle goes to the LEFT and falls forward on top of his own goalie.

Physics 101, if I exert enough force to knock you down then you should fall away from the impact of the cross check. That doesn't happen here, even with all of the slow motion videos you've shown.

And since I'm an LA fan, I don't have any skin in this game and don't particularly care who wins this series or this game.

  14. I don’t think Swayman would of saved it even without the contact. He pushed himself way too much forward before the hit. He was not closing the gap. Go Oilers!

  15. Should have been an EASY call

Their failure, lead to a tie game with a Florida power play after too smh

  16. As a bruins fan I just can’t decide what to be more mad at this series. The bruins poor play and bad effort or the refs absolutely screwing us over at every turn. In either case it’s been a depressing series so far.

  17. Boston certainly hasn't done themselves any favors (honestly, since game 5 of the Toronto series) but regardless of how a team is playing, to miss that call is inexcusable, especially in the playoffs. I can recall numerous GI disputes from earlier this season that were A LOT less blatant than that where the goal was dis-allowed. Allowing that goal to stand is actually shameful

  18. I haven't really watched hockey much since the strike. I watched this game last night, and still don't think I'll be watching regularly.

  19. I'm not even a Boston Bruins fan and I'm seeing BS in this series. Is the NHL want Florida to be in the Finals or something? I see a dirty hit and a missed goalie interference by the same guy. I think the biggest problem with the NHL is that they have partnered with gambling websites, just like any other professional team sports. I simply want to watch a clean playoff series even though my favorite Anaheim Ducks are not in the playoffs. NHL is botching this up and I hope that they make more honest calls in the upcoming games.

  20. check coyle's speed and swayman's speed coming back the other direction and the angle that bennet touched him, Coyle clearly had no where to go and actually turns INTO Swayman instead of making an effort to go the other way.You call this goal back, you might as well say no one can touch anyone near the crease at all. Fact is Coyle was already IN the crease going towards Swayman anyways.

  21. All the refs are terrible this year, constantly inconsistent and incompetant. Get some training or go ref some junior league

  22. Wait wait wait…are you saying Bennett and Florida in general are getting away w murder? Refs act like they are their own personal bodyguards? No way!
    Signed,
    VGK fan

  23. Regardless it’s a dumb rule if you get pushed back into your own goalie then you clearly weren’t an active participant in the play you are just camping out and that should be discouraged. Play hockey not passive obstacle.

  24. It would be interesting to see how good Florida is if they had to play by the same rules as everyone else.

  25. They blew this call, big time. But the problem isn't just the refs or Toronto, it goes all the way up to Bettman.

  26. He moves forward after pushing off the post to kick the initial shot. To move then to his right he'd need to catch his skate edge with another move and then push. That much is clear from above. My guess is the NHL felt he couldn't make that move as he doesn't kick his left leg to push off again. The main issue though is that the rule doesn't care about that as a standard but that rules in sports are also up to humans to call and make judgements on. At the end of the day you need to be better than the refs. No one wants to be on the receiving end of calls like this but it's always going to be a part of sports played by humans and run by humans. Gotta be better than it.

  27. @eckhockey you’re the skip bayless of yt hockey analysis, just wrong about everything lmfao stop being dumb my dude

  28. Florida was the 2nd most penalized team in the NHL during the regular season and are 2nd in postseason penalties. Boston is 1st in postseason penalties, while having been 14th during the regular season.
Florida is an aggressive team and, most often, aggressive teams get penalized more often than teams who aren't as aggressive. The inflated rate at which Boston is being called for penalties is not carrying over to Florida.
The Bruins are actually getting shafted by officiating, if you look at it this way. How is the #14 most penalized team suddenly the #1 most penalized team while the #2 most penalized team stays at that spot?
    This is horrendous.
