KD would get some scrutiny from fans for sure especially after the god awful product we had this year.
Pronman has Demidov ranked behind catton but is also heralded as some prospect genius. I have no idea how he got his job he’s often wrong about prospects.
I had said we should do this if we landed #1. Celebrini + Bedard wouldn’t mix well on a couple levels. Same position, and both expecting to be #1. They wouldn’t have mixed like Toews and Kane.
Now I dunno. I’d be open to trading down a slot or two if we really aren’t sure on who’s the best, or if we have particular suspicions on Demidov. I don’t think the NHL quite works like the NFL, though. It’s a bigger deal to have a few superstars rather than needing to fill in a bunch of distinct positions.
They were the 2nd worst team in the league last year and where unwatchable for a lot of the year. There is no situation where trading the #2 pick is acceptable imo.
