  1. Sports betting is big money. REALLY big money. It is in the NHL's best interest to push series a certain way. If you expect a fair series, you're the idiot, no offense. The leagues #1 priority is by far and away, to make as much profit as they can, and have learned that sports fans in general will put up with nearly everything, as long as there is enough parity during the regular season to have your team at the very least be interesting.

That said, often enough, the officials just straight up aren't paying attention or make some brutal calls due to being tilted.

  2. If the Bennet-Coyle goal is goalie interference, then Jamie Benn getting shoved into Georgiev by Manson at the end of the first period in game 4 wasn’t interference.

  3. I don't know, but Jim Montgomery going nuts on the bench all night was hilarious. Then he did the other weird head shake eye roll thing too.

  4. My comment is we are florida panthers fans unlike the Boston crybabies we're not going to throw a hissy fit even though this gosl gave them the land unlike the one their crying about that just told the game on there home ice with plenty of time left in the game we l9st and we'll take it and we still have 2 more opportunities at least and if we go down it'll be our own fault no crying here

  5. I think the best way to tackle the goaltender interference debacle is by actually enforcing the crease. Goaltenders are supposed to be safe within it. If ANYTHING caused by the opposing team stops the goaltender perform in any way it should not be a goal. I want hockey to be a physical spot and have loved the playoffs this year but the goalies need to be protected.

  6. It appears that the only safe play around the crease is to push or crosscheck the opposing player into the goalie. Then you can score into an empty net. If that doesn't work then just hold the player and push him into the goalie to draw the interference call on the potential goal scorer. Officiating in the Bruins Panthers series is a dumpster fire.

  7. Pretty sure the game you’re thinking of was the Oilers vs Rangers in December. That play was stoped because the shot caused Skinners helmet to get lose/ fall off from what I remember. Bob making a shoulder save shouldn’t stop a play

  8. As a bruins fan i honestly wouldnt have been mad if that was called goalie interference without the context of bennetts goal being allowed, but if they had called that back i honestly wouldve punched a hole in my wall lmao. Most nerve wracking moment of the series for me when they were reviewing that. It was 100% a makeup call, which looks terrible for the league no matter how you look at it.

  9. some of the worst officiating I've ever seen, and I couldn't care less about either team and it is infuriating to watch, refs NEED re-evaluation across the entire league

  10. I'm not sure what people are expecting. These are the best hockey referees in the world. Who else should be refereeing these games that would be better? Yeah, they miss some calls, but as long as that goes both ways without actual bias, all good. It's just a game at the end of the day, people need to stop crying and grow up.

  11. I can see them stopping play if the goalies mask comes loose, he loses a trapper or blocker, or he is injuried….. but this was a bullshit whistle for Florida plain and simple

  12. The sad fact of today's 'salary cap parity' is that the team that wins the Stanley Cup in any given year is essentially the team that just by chance has the highest number of controversial refereeing calls go their way over the duration of the playoffs. Sure, a team needs to stay relatively healthy (which is also largely a matter of luck), and needs to get good goaltending in critical games, but very few teams, if any, can afford to lose more than one or two games along the way simply because the refs blew an important call.

  13. They had to rule no interference for fairness. But as a goalie theres a huge difference in saving when set up in advance and rushing back to setting up as the player is already winding up.
Interference but i got no problem with a wink wink nudge nudge, wipe slate clean call.

  14. I’ve never been of the mind that the NHL favours teams but I do think the refs try to make the game more entertaining/interesting when given the opportunities. That’s exactly what “managing the game” is now. Player safety is really incompetent though.

  15. Stars lost in 7 to St. Louis the year they won the cup because the refs blew the call on a Ben Bishop "dive". This is nothing new, it is just that you are now paying attention. Southern cities with good teams get screwed and fan bias sweeps it under the rug.

  16. Panthers fan here, it was a good goal tonight. Bruins played with desperation and a whole lot more discipline. We don’t complain about this. Play hard no matter what. Absolutely need to close the series out no matter what the refs call or don’t call
