@Avalanche du Colorado

1. I did not expect this at all, this is the only series I haven’t kept up with cause I thought avs would wash

  2. i have a hard time sympathizing with a team that hoisted the cup less than two calendar years ago. if they can't get another one, boohoo. may the best team win. the only person i truly feel for is landeskog

  3. No one knows whats going on in that locker room. Assuming is a mistake.

This team has the capability to win this back but I doubt it happens sadly because it seems to still be unfolding lol.

The reality is Nichuskin was selfish and screwed his team. Toews being hurt doesn't help either but mr russian could of waited until he fell of the rails again.

  4. Avs fan checking in. Val ripped my heart out. 3rd stunt like this, as we all wish him well not sure we will see him again. Hes one guy but how it happened 2 years in a row is wack… it pisses me off in that aspect a lot. Been in rehab… ok dead horse… Coaching… man that's a tough one and I have thought it over and over. Coming from a person who plays hockey my entire life, does not miss a second of a single game its hard to say with Bednar. It may be time for a change though. There is too much talent on this team for them not to at least give up a fight. So I have felt at times the systems are wacked and Bedard is getting out coached. Rememeber a few years back, the Avs had an identity that no one else was doing. All the points from the blueline. Its all everyone talked about is how the Avs used their D. Now idk maybe complacency has got the best of the team with the same old same old. Not to mention how soft we are… Watching Devon Toews get laid out by Benn, then really no one did shit I felt we were cooked then. Since game 2 something has been off I will be interested to hear more details the summer. Whole thing is fishy. We come back game 1, the just lay down and die… then Val then Toews… so whos knows we only here a small fraction of what is going on. Like with Toews, they say he's sick… man he ain't sick… Maybe puking cause he got a concussion. But he ain't sick no freaking way. Thier bodies are far to healthy to just all of a sudden get sick during the most important game of the year.

  5. All im gonna say is dallas you better kill us now because if let us win game 5 and wake us up it might not be good for you so you better kill us now

  6. time for Bednar to go, we need a coach that understands the Avs historical system for winning, which is not built around stars. See Miracle on Ice

  7. IIHF drops doping case against Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin

MOSCOW — A years-old doping case against Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin has been dropped by the International Ice Hockey Federation, the Russian Hockey Federation said Tuesday.

The RHF said "the IIHF informed Nichushkin that all charges against the player have been dropped" and that it would not attempt to suspend him. The RHF said this followed "the results of additional analyses" at a drug-testing laboratory in Switzerland.

The IIHF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Nichushkin was one of the Avalanche's top players on their Stanley Cup run last season. He then signed a $49 million, eight-year contract to remain with Colorado long term.

An IIHF sanction would not affect NHL eligibility.

In November 2021, RHF executive director Dmitry Kurbatov told Russian media the case originated with a sample Nichushkin gave in 2013. Kurbatov said that the World Anti-Doping Agency obtained Nichushkin's sample in 2019 from the closed Moscow lab and that a banned substance was found when it was reanalyzed.

In a July interview with Russian newspaper Sport-Express, Nichushkin said he was told that a test he gave while with Russian club Traktor Chelyabinsk allegedly contained a suspicious level of testosterone, and he was accused of links to a Russian doping cover-up scheme. He said he was fighting the allegations.

  8. No. bednar is an amazing coash. at the end of the day it comes down to the players right? comes down to how bad you want it and sucks to say but the avs just dont want it. if you watched all games we look completely dead and flat footed.

  9. 1:09 I think Bednar needs a lesson on how to ride a horse from Knoblauh. Those minutes are cute, but McDavid and Drai are literally playing 29+ mins trying to crack the Canucks D.

  10. No sane avs fan is blaming Bednar. Even if they were, the whole winning the Stanley Cup two years ago should buy him at least a few more years.

I feel for Val but as an addict myself I’ve had to live with my mistakes and he’ll have to live with his. I doubt the nhl “player’s assistance” round 3 is gonna work for him if it didn’t work the first time. Also, those kinds of programs are more so there to absolve the league of any liability than they are to actually help the guy. I’m sure a lot of the staff in those programs might genuinely care and want him to succeed and all that but at the end of the day the league will come first. Just the way the world is.

It’s a shame but I’m not gonna sit here and act like I could deny those temptations as a professional athlete when I couldn’t even do it as a deli worker haha

I had a feeling he was still in it after his reaction to the crowd cheering his first career hat trick. Had a look about him I’ve seen in a mirror or two

  11. Bednar isn't the problem. Makar cannot play physical hockey and the other Avs are chosing not to. Sad to say but the Avs look like the Leafs. They aren't at the level of other teams in the playoffs.

  12. I liked how Colorado got tougher with the acquisitions of Wood, Trenin and Duhaime. My team (the Bruins) are as soft as a pillow. But this is just a bad matchup for the Avs against Dallas.

  13. As a Stars fan, the Avs would be dumb to fire Bednar. He’s a fantastic coach, there’s no reason to get rid of him. This could easily be a 2-2 series with the almost collapse in game 2 from Dallas. This isn’t a coaching problem. I just think, especially in game 3, Dallas just figured out how to completely squash Colorado’s gameplan. Then all the stuff before game 4 hurt Colorado to an extent that they just looked out of it. When it comes to Val, this is two years in a row where he dipped at the most crucial time and abandoned his team, for whatever reason and I ain’t gonna speculate, but it hurts not having someone that important to your team not being there. I don’t think anyone was expecting this from this series, it does help my Stars that Oettinger has been playing lights out, but they’ve almost completely taken Colorado out of there game; Makar and Mackinnon have been silent the last few games and the team hasn’t lead for a single second this whole series. This isn’t the Avs that I expected.

  14. Top 5 coach fix the goaltending Darcy Keumper was great and beat my lightning in a final get a B+ to B goalie and they’ll be good

  15. The year Bernard started, I made a dumb internet comment that I could coach better. I have never been more wrong. He’s a contemplative coach who focuses on precise execution throughout the lineup and improving every player he has. The avalanche would be lucky if he retired as their coach. Anyone saying otherwise right now is just upset that the AVs seemingly have had their playoff run ripped out from under them by bad bounces and unforeseen circumstances.

  16. I'm an avs fan but this is just like we looked one of the best teams when we played against Winnipeg😪
    And do not fire bednar!!

  17. No Landy and O’Connor already tough enough!!! Landy was such an emotional leader not just about his physicality and production. Now this Val nonsense AGAIN!!!! Toews Ill. Still no excuse the boys gotta come and work!!! Mikko especially is sooooo infuriating to watch just floating around playing who gives a Fck hockey!!! Makar and Mack have both been bad as-well and it’s not the stars shutting them down it’s them just giving pucks away or missing simple basic passes !!!

  18. Nah everyone love bednar. Georgiev has been pretty solid in this series as well. He's made some huge saves. Avs have just had a lot of unlucky shots go their way. Losing Val was huge though. Definitely the reason why avs will probably lose the series since Mikko has been M.I.A.

  19. I had heard they played Georgiev a lot during the regular season – he didn’t play that much more than other goalies did. But maybe he could have played like 10 games less and have been a lot fresher during the Playoffs?
