Yes Aqua man, your yes man Benning made 1 good trade in his 8 year tenure of trying to execute your tone deaf demands that saddled us with a decade of misery. Bunch of monkeys…typewriters…eventually Shakespeare you know what I’m getting at here.

  2. BroliasBoesersson

How’s Oliver Ekman-Larsson doing? Loved his assist on that Miller goal last night

  3. TransomBob

You want credit for something Aqua? You brought in Rutherford. That’s something you can actually take credit for. Unless you’d also like to take credit for the 10 years of utter mismanagement alongside the Miller trade.

  4. There’s so many funny layers to this that I don’t even know which part to address.

  5. International_Cut_69

Also the JT Miller trade other Jim didn’t make

  6. bwoah07_gp2

Ah, gotta love the Aqua man. 😄

What year is that photo from anyways, 2014?

  7. KleptoKlown

No one was criticizing the acquisition of JT Miller, we were criticizing the price Benning paid. Tampa *had* to move Miller for the cap space, yet Benning still comes rushing in with a 1st round pick offer.

somehow this man takes a time that we should be celebrating and makes it about a « I was right » – come on dude, SO MANY bad trades and deals but can’t we focus on those in the off season?

ugh, I forgot that we had shitty owners until I read this post

  9. PoisonClan24

I was 1 of the critics that wanted to Keep Horvat over Miller. I apologize JT. Thanks for signing. This is why I am on this side LOL

This is like saying « no one is criticizing buying a $10 dollar scratch and win for $100 now that it won $100,000 now are they? ».

No one but no one was criticizing the return, we all were super happy. But the price we paid in no way reflected an ability to actually negotiate with leverage, and this was arguably one of the most egregious and detrimental aspects of Benning, vastly overpaying. I will never forget the old « sometimes you have to throw in a pick to get it done » line

HOly shit, shut the hell up, what a horrible mistake to make tweets like this when things are rolling. Is this guy really this stupid? Talk about punching yourself in the balls for no reason.

  12. JTMilleriswortha1st

He’s worth a 1st. I’ve been preaching it for the past 4 years. I’ve had my issues with Miller at times but this year he is the heart and soul of the squad

  13. canucksstanleycup

No one should have criticized the move in the first place. The management team has always excelled at trading. There was no reason to doubt it. Pure fleecing

  14. scotts_tots_founder

This guy should just not do social media, especially during the playoffs

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

As we sit here watching Jim Benning’s players bring success to the Canucks.

  18. DoveyCad

I think I brought good luck to the team cause 2 hours before puck drop I said what the fuck has JT miller done. 5 hrs later dude gets game winner.

  19. dattroll123

The 1st rounder wasnt overpay, but the move didnt make sense because we were supposed to be rebuilding so it was dumb to trade away draft picks. It was benning taking shortcuts again.

  20. therealbeef

I still want this dickhead scum developer to sell the team.

  21. BriscoCounty83

Maybe wait untill we get to a conference final Mr Blueberry because Miller’s points mean squat unless we have some constant playoff success in the next 2-3 years.

One thing that Aqua never learns is not to gloat to soon. A lot of players had a career years and we’ll lose of them in the summer while others will go back to normal next year. The Flames did something similar in 2021-2022 under Sutter with their first line having insane production and collapsed the next season.

  22. QuiGGz96

We’re still paying for that OEL contract bud, I wouldn’t get too high on jim too quick. We remember all to well. Not to mention we could have had a lot more potential blue chip prospects in the system. How many picks did he piss away going all in to not make the playoffs?

  23. Decapentaplegia

I happily include myself among those eating crow about JT Miller. I was bummed to see Horvat go, but Miller has stepped up as a leader and contender.

  24. Ikea_desklamp

Benning, whether it was actually him or pressure from scouts or AGM’s did do some successful things. He pretty much built our core. But this team would never have succeeded like this under him because he can’t fill out a roster, he can’t creatively manage cap, he can’t sign free agents and he left our farm system to wither.
