I heard this guy was on many teams radar including laffs, habs, and rags. Maybe louzer plan is to sign euro free agents this off-season with limited cap space. Isles are eyeing swiss league d man a. gauzer 28, a good transition d man and will sign him for one year $1.5 mil. deal. A low risk high reward signing of tsyplakov. If he doesn't work out isles can just walk away from him in training camp. Some question isles history of integrating euro league imports. Tsyplakov is a big forward with a scoring touch-31 g to 16 a-signed to an elc $950,000 deal. Maybe he works out, maybe he doesn't. vgk gave that russian a few years back a massive deal only to see him fan out as season started and was waived back to russia because he couldn't translate to nhl style. Word is louzer's next move is to pursue ufa stamkos which would take some serious cap dumping to do just that. Could louzer be looking to use isle picks to rid isles of 44 and 27 to make room for stamkos? And use the first for another addition like scorers laine or zegras available? Or deal 6 back to manitoba for eilers? What would isles look like with stamkos, another scorer, tsplakov, and guazer on the roster next season and – 44, 27, 15, and 17 and perhaps 6? That would definitely be a better roster going forward for louzer who is always in win now mode. Isles are at a critical juncture where a big signing or significant trade(s) could transform isles from playoff hopeful to contender.
It's a good first move of the off season but it can't be the last move. We have to find a way to trade guys like Lee, Nelson and Pageau and maybe even Pelech and then DO NOT Resign guys like Martin and Clutterbuck and we can make this a soft rebuild and be competitive sooner then later.

being the greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports gives rise to a tremendous lack of patience because we were winning the stanley cup year after year or just prior to our cup years we finished with the best record in the nhl twice and went to 5 straight finals. This will spoil anybody and create a lack of patience.I mean it would create a expectation of winning the cup EVERY SINGLE YEAR.So now we havent won a cup since 83 ,or made the finals since 84. Im certain we have to be the one team with the biggest disparity between greatness and failure after our dynasty.I NEED TO BRING UP A VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC. Yes, Sorokin was not at his best this year.. However, our defenseman were very bad in front of him. I think he'll be much better next year with a healthy Mayfield, and the signing of Reilly as 3rd pair..

He's got Patrick Roy, an excellent goalie with Montreal and in CO.

I can’t think of any instances where undrafted, KHL free agents, come to the NHL and turn out to be good players. I could be wrong but I can’t think of one. Hopefully this works out.
